LILY DOUBLE QUICK Mercerized Crochet Cotton, Art. 50: 11 skeins Flamingo, 10 skeins Ecru and 13 skeins Aqua.

Viking Crochet Hook Size H-6.

SIZE — 24 x 40 inches, excluding fringe.

Use 3 strands throughout.

Starting at long edge with 1 strand of each color, make 45-inch chain.

ROW 1: Sc in 2d ch from hook, * sk next ch, sc in next 2 ch, sc back in skipped ch, pulling this long, slanting sc up to level of work; repeat from * for 40 inches; sc in next ch.

ROW 2: Ch 1, turn, * sc in 1st sc, (sk next sc, sc in next 2 sc, a long sc back in skipped sc) repeated across; sc in end sc. Repeat Row 2 ten times.

ROWS 13 & 14: ** Drop Ecru and Aqua, add 2 strands Flamingo and draw these 3 strands thru lp on hook, turn and make 2 rows. Drop Flamingo, draw up Aqua from previous row, add 2 more strands Aqua and make 2 rows. Continue with 2 rows each Ecru, Aqua, Flamingo, Aqua, Ecru, Aqua and Flamingo. Returning to 1 strand of each color, ** make 20 rows. Repeat from ** to **; make 12 rows.

EDGE: Ch 1, sc in last sc, * sc in each row across end, 2 sc in corner, (sc in next 2 sts, sk 2 sts) repeated across, 2 sc in corner; repeat from * around; join to 1st sc.

RND 2: Ch 1, sc in same sc, (ch 2, sk 1 sc, sc in next sc) repeated across end to corner; fasten off. Repeat across other end.

FRINGE: Wind 1 strand of each color 3 times around 4 inch card. Cut at one edge. Double strands to form a loop. Insert hook from underneath thru 1st ch-2 sp on one end, draw loop thru, draw loose ends thru loop and pull tight. Tie a Fringe in each ch-2 sp on both ends. Trim to an even length. Stretch and pin Rug right-side-down in true shape. Steam and press dry thru a cloth.
