LILY DOUBLE QUICK Mercerized Crochet Cotton, Art. 50: 2 skeins Coral Pink and 1 skein Cream for 2 Lanterns.

No. 3 Steel Crochet Hook.

MOTIF: Starting in center with Coral, ch 2.

RND 1: 6 sc in 2d ch from hook, join to back lp of 1st sc.

RND 2: (Ch 5, sc) twice in same sc, (ch 5, sc) twice in back lp of next 4 sc, ch 5, sc in next sc, ch 2, dc in same sc (12 lps). Mark end of rnds.

RND 3: (Ch 2, sc in next lp, ch 2, in next lp make sc, ch 4, sc) 5 times, ch 2, sc in next lp, ch 2, in next lp make sc, ch 2, hdc.

RND 4: * (Ch 2, sc in next lp) repeated to next corner lp, ch 4, sc in same corner lp; repeat from * around, ending with ch 2, hdc, for final corner lp.

RND 5: Repeat Rnd 4.

RND 6: * (Ch 1, sc in next lp) 5 times to corner lp, ch 4, sc in same corner lp; repeat from * 5 times. Fasten off.

RND 7: Attach Cream to 1 corner, ch 1, 2 sc in same lp, * hdc and dc in next ch-1 sp, (2 dc in next sp) 3 times, dc and hdc in next sp, 3 sc in corner lp; repeat from * around; 1 sc in 1st corner, join to 1st sc. Fasten off.

FLOWER: Attach Cream to front lp of 1 sc on Rnd 1, (ch 7, sl st in 2d ch from hook, on bal. of chain make sc, hdc, dc, hdc and sl st; sc in next sc on Rnd 1) 6 times. Fasten off. Sew tips of petals on Motif corners. Make 8 Motifs. Sew 6 Motifs tog. into a circle, thru 1 lp of each st. Sew 7th Motif in center opening. Pin Motifs right-side-down. Steam and press dry thru a cloth. Sew 6 Motifs on edge of circle tog. by next side on each, forming a cup. Sew 8th Motif in top opening.

RING: With Coral, ch 20, join with sl st to form ring; sl st in each ch, join, fasten off and sew to center of top Motif.
