Attach light thread to a corner of a handkerchief with a rolled edge. 1st rnd: Ch 8, dc in same place where thread was attached (corner sp made), * ch 2, sk ⅛ inch on handkerchief, dc in edge. Repeat from * to next corner, having a multiple of 3 plus 2 sps (not counting corner sp), ch 5, dc in same place as last dc (another corner sp made). Continue thus around. Join last ch-2 with sl st in 3rd st of starting chain. 2nd rnd: Sl st in corner sp, ch 1, sc in same sp, ** ch 8, dc in 5th ch from hook, ch 3, sc in same sp, * ch 8, dc in 5th ch from hook, ch 3, sk 2 sps, sc in next sp. Repeat from * across till last sc made is in next corner sp. Repeat from ** around. Join last ch-3 with sl st in 1st sc made. Fasten off. 3rd rnd: Attach Dark in any dc loop, ch 1, in same loop make sc, (ch 3, sc in 3rd ch from hook—p made—sc) 6 times; * 3 sc over each of the next 2 ch's, sc in next dc loop, ch 1, sc in adjacent p, ch 1, in same loop make (sc, p) 5 times; and sc. Repeat from * around. Join and fasten off.
