CENTER—In Baby Pink, ch 9, sl st in 1st ch. Ch 1, 12 sc in ring, sl st in 1st sc. ROW 2—Ch 21, sk 1 sc, tr in next sc, (ch 15, sk 1 sc, tr in next sc) 4 times, ch 15, sl st in 6th st of ch-21. ROW 3—Ch 1, ** 7 sc in next lp, 1 sc in one lp of center st, * ch 6, holding back the last lp of each tr on hook, make 2 tr in 6th ch from hook, thread over and pull thru all lps on hook (Cluster made), ch 4, sl st in Cluster for a p, ch 6, sl st at base of Cluster, sc in same center st of ch-15 lp. Repeat from * twice. 7 sc on bal. of ch-15 lp. Repeat from ** 5 times. Join and fasten off. ROW 4—Join 1st Cluster in one group, * ch 9, (sc, ch 12, sc) in next (center) Cluster, ch 9, sc in next Cluster, ch 7, sc in 1st Cluster in next group. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 3 and dc in 1st sc. ROW 5—Ch 13, * dtr in ch-12 lp on next point, ch 10, (tr tr, ch 17, tr tr) in same lp, ch 10, dtr in same lp, ch 10, sk next ch-9 lp, dc in next ch-7 lp, ch 10 and repeat from * around. End with sl st in 3d st of ch-13. ROW 2—Ch 3, turn, (13 dc in next sp, dc in next st) repeated around. Join to top of ch-3. ROW 3—Ch 4, sk 1 dc, dc in next dc, (ch 1, sk 1 dc, dc in next dc) repeated around. Join to 3d st of ch-4.

FRILL—Sc in next ch-1 sp, * sk 2 sps, (ch 2, dtr) 10 times in next sp, ch 2, sk 2 sps, sc in next 2 sps. Repeat from * around. ROW 2—Sc in 1st ch-2 sp, ch 3 for a dc, (ch 5, dc in next sp) repeated around. Join to 3d st of 1st lp, sl st in next 3 ch. ROW 3—Ch 8, dc in next lp, (ch 5, dc in next lp) 8 times, * (ch 5, dc) 1 times in next lp (between shells), (ch 5, dc in next lp) 10 times. Repeat from * around. Join to 3d st of 1st ch-8. ROW 4—Sl st to center of next lp, ch 3 for a dc, * (ch 6, dc in next lp) repeated around. Join to 3d st of 1st lp. Repeat Row 4 four times increasing lps 1 ch in each row (10-ch lps in Row 8). ROW 9—Repeat Row 4 to *. (Ch 10, sl st in 5th ch from hook for a p, ch 6, dc in next lp, ch 11, dc in next lp) repeated around. Join and fasten off.

ROCK ROSE—In Beauty Rose, ch 8, sl st in 1st ch. Ch 1, 10 sc in ring, sl st in 1st sc. * Ch 3, making 1st st slightly longer than usual, (1 hdc, 2 dc, 2 tr, 7 dtr, 2 tr, 2 dc and 1 hdc) all in long st, sk 1 sc on ring, sl st in next sc. Repeat from * 4 times. ROW 2—(Ch 1, sl st in next st) repeated around petals. Fasten off. With 2 strands Green, make 5 French Knots in center, winding 6 times around needle. Make 12 Roses, rack one on tip of each point of lattice band, and the others midway between points.

LEAVES—In Green, ** ch 18, sk last 2 ch, (2 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 4 tr, 1 dc, 1 hdc and 2 sl sts) on ch. * Repeat from ** for 2d leaf. Sl st in next 4 ch, ch 14 and repeat from * to *. Sk opposite leaf, sl st in 4 ch of stem. Fasten off. Make 18 Leaves. Tack one down from each Rose on points of band, and one on each side of other Roses.

Dip doily in hot, thick starch. Roll in a cloth to absorb excess. Stretch and pin right-side-up in true shape. Press center thru a cloth. As starch sets, arrange ruffle in even ripples.
