MATERIALS:
J. & P. COATS KNIT-CRO-SHEEN, 3 balls of any color.
Bone Crochet Hook No. 6.
GAUGE: 2 sc and ch-1 make 1 inch; 3 rnds make 1 inch.
Divide thread into 6 balls.
Use 6 strands throughout.
CROWN … Starting at tip of Crown, ch 3. Join with sl st to form a ring. 1st rnd: 7 sc in ring. Do not join rnds. 2nd rnd: * Ch 1, sc in next sc. Repeat from * around. 3rd rnd: * Ch 1, sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, in next ch-1 sp make sc, ch 1 and sc (ch-1 sp increased). Repeat from * around. Now repeat the last rnd until there are 21 ch-1 sps made. Work 3 rnds without increasing. Next rnd: Work as before, increasing 4 ch-1 sps at equal distances apart. * Work 1 more inch without increasing. Then on next rnd increase 6 ch-1 sps at equal distances apart. Repeat from * once more. Work 6 rnds without increasing.
Then make picot edge as follows: * Ch 4, sc in last sc, sc in next ch-1 sp. Repeat from * around. Join and fasten off.
Pull into shape, starch lightly, or stiffen with millinery sizing and allow to dry.
