Ch 17 in., turn. Row 1—Work 4 d c in 4th ch from hook, * skip 3 ch, work 1 s c, ch 2, 4 d c in next st; repeat from * across row ending with 1 s c. Row 2—Ch 3, turn, 4 d c in first st, * 1 s c, ch 2, 4 d c in the ch 2 of previous row; repeat from * across row ending with 1 s c in top of ch 3. Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 14 in. or desired length. Work 3 rows of popcorn st across top of bag as follows: Row 1—* 1 d c in each of first 3 sts, 5 d c in next st, remove hook, insert hook into the first of the 5 d c, draw loop through; repeat from * across row. Row 2—Ch 1, work 1 s c in each st. Row 3—Ch 3, * work a popcorn st in the s c directly over the center d c of the 3 d c of previous row and 1 d c in each of the next 3 d c; repeat from * across row. Row 4—Repeat Row 2. Row 5—Repeat Row 1. Row 6—Repeat Row 2.

FINISHING—Fold bag and sew sides tog. Work a ch long enough for sides and bottom of bag. Work 2 rows of s c, 1 row of popcorn st, and 2 rows of s c on ch. Sew over side seams and bottom of bag.
