Ch 63. Work 1 s c in 2nd st from hook and in each remaining ch st (62 sts). Row 1—Ch 3, turn, draw up a loop through the 2nd ch, a loop through the 3rd ch and a loop through each of next 3 sts, draw cordet through all 6 loops on hook, ch 1, * draw a loop through the ch, a loop from back of st, a loop from last st of finished star and a loop through each of next 2 sts, draw through all 6 loops. Ch 1; repeat from * across row. Row 2—Ch 3, turn, * skip 1 st, 2 d c in next st; repeat from * across row. Repeat above two rows until piece measures 8 in., then decrease one pattern at the end of each d c row only, until piece measures 8 in. across last completed row and 14 in. in length. Work 6 rows of s c around entire edge, working 3 s c in the center st at each corner. Ch 2 at end of each row.
FINISHING—Insert bag clasp on face of bag so that it will catch the point and close. Insert the lining and fold into shape on dotted line (SEE CHART). Sew sides tog. Work 1 row of s c around opening and flap edges.
