Clark's O.N.T. Knitting and Crochet Cotton or J. & P. Coats Crochet Cord.
Milward's steel crochet hook No. 5 or 6.

For ease in making, this design is worked in 14 inch strips, and then each strip is inconspicuously joined together to form the bedspread. These may run either crosswise or lengthwise of the bed. The directions given here make a section about 14 inches square which re­quires about 380 yds. of thread. Every 5 inches of edging requires about 23 yds. of thread. Note the number of yds. in­dicated on the ball of thread to deter­mine the amount of material necessary.

To make a pc st over a sp, make a d c as in beginning a bl, ch 1, make 6 d c in sp below, remove the hook and insert into 1st ch-1 and pull loop through, then ch 1 to tighten and d c in d c at end of sp. To make a pc st over a bl, put 3 d c in each of 2 center d c (in place of 6 d c in sp), and complete the pc st as ex­plained. All pc sts are made on one side.
