MATERIALS:
Chadwick's Red Heart Knitting Worsted, 2 balls (1 oz. balls) of Hunter's Green and 1 ball of Brown.
Bone Crochet Hook No. 8.

Use a double strand throughout.

Starting at tip of Crown with Green, ch 4. Join. 1st rnd: Ch 3, 8 dc in ring. 2nd and 3rd rnds: 2 dc in top of ch-3, 2 dc in each dc around (36 dc at end of 3rd rnd). 4th rnd: (Sc in next 3 dc, dc in next 9 dc) 4 times. 5th rnd: Sc over each sc and dc over each dc. 6th rnd: Sc in next 3 sc, dc in next 5 dc, 3 dc in next dc, dc in next 3 dc, sc in next 3 sc, dc in next 9 dc, sc in next 3 sc, dc in next 3 dc, 3 dc in next dc, dc in next 5 dc. 7th rnd: Sc in next 3 sc, dc in next 6 dc, 3 dc in next dc, dc in next 4 dc, sc in next 3 sc, dc in next 9 dc, sc in next 3 sc, dc in next 4 dc, 3 dc in next dc, dc in next dc. 8th, 9th and 10th rnds: Work as for 7th rnd, having 1 more dc before and after increases on each side of each rnd. Break off after the 10th rnd.

TASSEL (Make 8) … Cut a piece of cardboard 3 x 4 inches. Wind Brown yarn 20 times around 3-inch width and cut. Insert a double strand of Brown under the loops at top of cardboard and tie into several square knots. Remove from cardboard. Cut loops at opposite end and trim ends evenly. Wind a strand of Brown several times around Tassel ½ inch down from top. Tie ends and cut. Sew 4 tassels on each side of Baby Cap.
