MATERIALS:
Use one of the following threads:
J. & P. Coats Knit-Cro-Sheen, 2 balls of White, Ecru, or any color.
Clark's O.N.T. Lustersheen, 1 skein of White or Ecru, or any color.
Milward's steel crochet hook No. 5.

Chair Back—about 13½ x 21 inches.
Arm Pieces—about 9½ x 13½ inches.

CHAIR BACK (First Motif) … Starting at center, ch 6, join with sl st. 1st rnd: Ch 5, * d c in ring, ch 2. Repeat from * until 5 sps are made, ch 2, sl st in 3rd st of ch-5. 2nd rnd: Ch 4, 2 tr in same place as sl st, * ch 2, tr in next sp, ch 3, sl st in last tr, ch 2, 3 tr in next tr. Repeat from * around. Join last ch-2 with sl st in 4th st of ch-4. Hereafter pick up only the back loop of each tr through­out. 3rd rnd: Ch 4, tr in same place as sl st, * tr in next tr, 2 tr in next tr, ch 7, 2 tr in next tr of 3-tr group. Re­peat from * around. Join last ch-7 to 4th st of ch-4. 4th rnd: Ch 4, tr in same place as sl st, * tr in next 3 tr, 2 tr in next tr, ch 4, skip 3 ch of ch-7, s c in next ch, ch 3, s c in same place, ch 4, 2 tr in next tr. Repeat from * around. Join last ch-4 to 4th st of ch-4 first made. Fasten off.

Make 17 more motifs. Place them in position as in illustration, wrong sides up, having 6 motifs in the 1st row, 5 in 2nd row, 4 in 3rd row and 3 in 4th row. Sew the tr-groups together with over-and-over stitches, picking up a single loop from each tr-group.

ARM PIECES … Make 10 motifs. Sew together 4 motifs for center row. Sew 3 motifs on each side of center row.
