Lace measures about 9½ inches deep. Each pattern measures about 21 inches wide, and requires about 800 yds. of thread.

MATERIALS:
Clark's O.N.T. or J. & P. Coats Mercerized Crochet, size 60, White.
Milward's steel crochet hook No. 12.

GAUGE: 7 sps make 1 inch; 7 rows make 1 inch.

Starting at lower edge, make a chain (21 chain sts to 1 inch) to measure ⅓ longer than desired length. 1st row: D c in 8th ch from hook, * ch 2, skip 2 ch, d c in next ch. Repeat from * for desired length (number of spaces should be divisible by 146). Cut off remaining chain. Ch 5, turn. 2nd row: Skip 1st 3 d c, d c in next d c, d c in each of next 2 ch, d c in next d c (1 bl); make 3 more bls, ch 2, d c in next d c (sp over sp); make 2 more sps, * 4 bls, 3 sps. Repeat from * across, ending row with 2 sps. Ch 5, turn. 3rd row: 1 sp, 2 bls, * 2 sps, 2 bls, 1 sp, 2 bls. Repeat from * 9 more times, 1 sp, ** 2 bls, 1 sp, 2 bls, 2 sps. Repeat from ** 9 more times; 2 more bls (this completes 1 pattern). Now repeat pattern the necessary number of times. Ch 3, turn. Hereafter, starting with 4th row, follow chart to top, always repeating pattern the necessary number of times.
