MATERIALS:

CLARK'S O.N.T. COTTON RUG YARN, 11 balls of any color.
Clark's O.N.T. Rug and Afghan Hook, size G.

The above amount of materials is suffi­cient for 4 place mats, each about 12 x 17 inches; and a center mat, about 14 x 32 inches.

PLACE MATS (Make 4) … Starting at long side, ch 70 (to measure about 18   inches). 1st row: Tr in 4th ch from hook, tr in next ch, 2 tr in next ch, * skip 3 ch, s c in next ch, ch 3, tr in same ch as s c, tr in next ch, 2 tr in next ch. Repeat from * across, ending with s c in last ch (11 shells made). Ch 3, turn. 2nd row: * S c in next ch-3 of shell, ch 3, 4 tr in same ch-3. Repeat from * across, ending with 4 tr under turning ch (11 shells). Ch 3, turn. Repeat 2nd row until piece meas­ures about 12 inches. Fasten off.

CENTER MAT … Starting at short side, ch 52 (to measure about 14 inches). Work as for Place Mats until piece is about 32 inches. Fasten off. Block to measurements given.
