Knitting Patterns

Variegated Knitted Rug

To Make Rug: Using 2 strands of yarn, cast on 54 stitches with Contrasting Color (CC). * Knit across. Repeat from * for 7 rows; cut yarn, leaving about 3 inches; pick up Main Color (M C) and continue to knit back and forth for 6 rows; cut yarn again, leaving about 3", and again pick up C C and knit back and forth for 6 rows. Wee Willie Winkie Infant Soaker with Bib

SOAKER: Beginning at front waist, using size 3 needles, cast on 48 sts. K 1, P 1 for 3 rows (ribbing). Next row: To form holes for elastic, * K 1, K 2 tog, yarn over (yo), p 1, repeat from * across row. Next row: Continue ribbing as before, working a p st in yo of previous row. Rib for 2 more rows, then change to size 4 needles and pattern st. Row 1: K (right side of work). (More)


Golden Metallic Fringed Stole

Cast on 79 sts. Rows 1-4: Knit. Row 5: K 1, * yo, K 2 tog, rep from * across row. Rep these 5 rows (pat­tern st) until stole measures about 67" (or any de­sired length). Bind off on row 4 of pattern st. Work sc along each side of stole.

Fringe: Wind yarn around piece of cardboard 5" wide. Clip yarn along one edge to make loops 5" long. In­sert crochet hook upward thru first st on end of stole. (More)

Cuff 'n Pocket Stole

LACY STITCH: Row 1: Ch. 2, sc back into first ch. Draw loop out on hook about ½". Draw thread through, making a ch st of it. Put hook btw loop and single thread of this ch st and make a sc. Make another knot st the same way and continue to end of row. Make 26 knot sts, ch 1, turn. Row 2: Sc back into last knot. Work like Row 1, but after each knot st make one sc st into knot of previous row. Continue in pattern for whole length of lacy part of stole—about 54". (More)


Two-Toned Topper

Work single crochet throughout. Make coat in four pieces: R & L front, R & L back (with center seam). FRONT: Ch 33. Work sc across row.Ch 1 to turn. Work sc in every st across, picking up front loop only (32 sts). Work 6 rows. Change color of yarn every 6 rows until piece measures 18". Dec 6 sts at armhole edge; then dec 1 st every other row 4 times. Work even until garment measures 8" from first dec. Dec 4 sts at neck edge. (More)

With Colonial Blue: Ch 6, join to form ring, ch 3. To form cluster: Yo hook, make a loose ½" loop through ring, yo, another ½" loop through ring, yo, loop through ring, yo and pull yarn through loops. Ch 1. * This completes a cluster. The Lexington Rug

Instructions: Use double strand of yarn throughout rug. To start, with Red yarn, chain 37, turn, and be­ginning in 2nd chain from hook, work 1 sc in 36 sts. Ch 1 to turn and repeat for 3 more rows of sc across. Cut yarn, leaving about 2 inch end. Attach Gray and work 1 sc in each sc to end of row, ch 1 to turn and repeat across for 3 more rows. Cut yarn. To Start: Using 2 strands of yarn in Main Color—for 20"x30" Rug, make starting chain of 23, turn on 2nd ch from hook and single crochet 44 around the chain (22 sc on each side of ch). 2nd Round—Continue to sc around, increasing twice at each end. 3rd Round— Continue to sc around, increasing 3 times at each end. 4th and Following Rounds—Continue to sc around, increasing only at ends and as required to keep rug flat. The Softy Twins

(For each doll): Open 1 skein and cut thru at bottom loop. Remove 14 strands and roll into soft ball for stuffing head. Set aside another 4 strands for tying. ARMS: From remainder of skein cut a 34" length, fold double, and tie at fold. Separate into 3 equal parts and braid. Tie ends. (Use remaining pieces for stuffing tummy.) BOY'S HEAD: Open 2 skeins and cut through loops at top and bottom. (More)
