MATERIALS: 3 Skeins Kentucky Soft spun, No. 113: 2 Colonial Blue (CB), 1 Royal Blue (RB)
1 Crochet Hook No. GBegin in center of seat using CB: ch 4, join with sl st to form ring. Rnd 1: 5 sc into ring. Rnd 2: Hold strand of 2d skein of CB parallel to previous rnd and work over this strand, 2 sc into each st including sl st (12 sc). Cont working over parallel strand until rnd 13. Rnd 3: * 2 sc into next sc (inc), 1 sc into next sc, repeat from * to end of rnd. Rnds 4-12: Work in sc, continuing to inc 6 sc at equal intervals each rnd not directly above inc of previous rnd (72 sc). Rnd 13: Break off 2d skein of CB and begin RB stripes by joining RB with sc in next st. Hold CB parallel to previous rnd and * work 1 RB in each of next 5 sc working over CB strand, then hold RB parallel to previous rnd and work 1 CB in each of next 2 sc, 2 CB in next sc, 1 CB in next sc working over RB strand, rep from * to end of rnd. There will be 8 (5 sc) stripes of each color. Rnd 14: Inc 1 RB in each RB stripe (6 sc), work each (5 sc) CB stripe even. Rnd 15: Inc 1 CB sc in each CB stripe (6 sc), work each (6 sc) RB stripe even. Rnds 16-23: Continue to inc 1 sc in alternate color stripes (8 sc) each rnd. End rnd 23 with sl st. Rnd 24: Break off CB, using RB ch 1, turn, 1 sl st in each sc, working into front loop of sc, join with sl st to ch 1. Break off. TIES: Using either color, ch 7", join with sc to edge, sc 4, ch 7", break off. Work like tie for opposite side of chair seat.
