Jack Frost Baby Yarn—5 1-oz. Balls

CARRIAGE COVER: With No. 5 Hook and Knitting Worsted, ch 148. Skip 1 ch * 1 sc in each of next 9 ch, 3 sc in next ch, 1 sc in each of next 9 ch, skip 2 ch, repeat from * to end of ch, ch 2, turn. Row 2—Taking back loop of all sts except the increasing sts through out cover, skip 1 st, *, 1 dc in each of next 9 sts, 3 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of next 9 sts, skip 2 sts; repeat from * to end of row, skipping 1 st before last st, ch 1, turn. Row 3—Skip 1 st *, 1 sc in each of next 9 sts, 3 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of next 9 sts, skip 2 sts; repeat from * to end of row, skipping 1 st before last st, ch 2, turn. Repeat rows 2 and 3 until piece measures 30 inches.
Edging: * Ch 3, skip 2 sts, 1 sc in next st; repeat from * around entire cover. Fasten off.
Fringe: Wind yarn around 4 inch cardboard; cut at 1 side. Using 3 strands of wool, draw thru each ch 3; loop thru.
PILLOW: With No. 5 Hook and Knitting Worsted, ch 85. Work pattern for 10 inches.
Edge and Fringe: Same as on cover.
SACQUE: With No. 2 Hook and Baby Yarn, ch 86. Row 1—Work 1 dc in 3rd ch from hook, 1 dc in each ch to end of ch, 84 dc in all, ch 2, turn. Row 2—Taking back loop on all sts except the increasing sts throughout, work * 1 dc in each of next 2 sts, 3 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of next 2 sts, skip 1 st; repeat from * across row, ending 1 dc in each of last 2 sts, ch 1, turn. Row 3—1 sc in each of 1st 3 sts *, 3 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of next 6 sts; repeat from * across row, ending 1 sc in each of last 3 sts, ch 2, turn. Row 4—Skip 1st st, * 1 dc in each of next 3 sts, 3 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of next 3 sts, skip 2 sts; repeat from * across row, ending 1 dc in each of next 2 sts, skip 1 st, 1 dc in last st, ch 1, turn. Row 5—1 sc in each of 1st 4 sts *, 3 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of next 8 sts; repeat from *, ending with 1 sc in each of the last 4 sts, ch 2, turn. Row 6—Skip 1st st, * 1 dc in each of next 4 sts, 3 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of next 4 sts, skip 2; repeat from *, ending 1 dc in each of the 3 sts, skip 1 st, 1 dc in last st. Continue working as above, working 3 sts in center st at each point and skipping 2 sts between points on dc row until there are 14 rows in all. Work over 2 points, skip 3 points for sleeve, work over next 4 points, skip next 3 points for sleeve, work over last 2 points. Work over these 8 points for 14 rows. Fasten off. Attach yarn at armhole, work over 3 points as above for 10 rows. Fasten off. Sew sleeve seams.
Neck Edge: Attach yarn at left front, ch 5, skip 3 sts, 1 dc in next st, * ch 3, skip 3 sts, 1 dc in next st; repeat from * across row.
Edging: * Ch 3, 1 sc in 1st ch, 1 sc in each of next 3 sts; repeat from * around entire garment and sleeves. Fasten off.
CAP: With No. 2 Hook and Baby Yarn, ch 3, join with sl st to form ring. Row 1—6 sc in ring. Row 2—Work 2 sc in each st. Row 3—* Work 1 sc in each of 1st 2 sts, 1 dc in 2nd st of previous row; repeat from * around row. Row 4—* Work 1 sc in each of 1st 3 sts, 1 dc around post of dc of previous row, inserting hook sideways; repeat from * around row. Continue increasing 1 st in each gore for 12 rows. Omit 1 gore for back, ch 2, turn. Row 1—* 1 dc in each of next 2 sts, 3 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of next 2 sts, skip 2 st; repeat from * to end of row, ch 1, turn. Row 2—1 sc in each st across row. Repeat rows 1 and 2, 6 times. Work 6 rows of sc, st for st, and fasten off.
Neck Edge: Work 1 row of sc, skipping every 3rd st. Work 4 rows of sc, st for st.
Front: On 1st row of sc, work 4 rows of pattern. Fasten off.
BOOTIES: With No. 2 Hook and Baby Yarn, ch 11. Work 10 rows of sc, ch 28 and join to beginning of last row. Work 9 rows of sc around 3 sides of square and the 28 ch. Fasten off. Sew across bottom. Attach yarn at center of back on top of boot, work back and forth in pattern described for cap for 3 inches. Fasten off. Sew back seam. Make ch 14 inches long, and lace thru as illustrated. Trim with tassels at each end.
