CARRIAGE COVER: With No. 4 Hook & Knitting Worsted, ch 118. Row 1—Work 1 sc in 1st ch, skip 2 ch, 6 dc in next ch *, skip 2 ch, 1 sc in next ch, skip 2 ch, 6 dc in next ch; repeat from *, ending row with 1 sc in last ch, ch 2, turn. Row 2—* 1 dc in each dc of shell, taking up back thread only, skip sc between shells; repeat from *, ending 1 dc in last sc, ch 1, turn. Row 3—1 sc in 1st dc *, 6 dc in space between 3rd and 4th dc from sc just made, 1 sc in space between the next 3rd and 4th dc; repeat from * across row, ending with 1 sc in last dc, ch 2, turn. Repeat rows 2 and 3 until piece measures 30 inches.
Border: Work 2 rows of sc around entire cover, working 3 sc in each corner st.
Edging: Starting on 3rd st from corner, work 1 sc *, skip 2 sts 6 dc in next st, skip 2 sts 1 sc in next st; repeat from * around entire cover, skipping only 1 st at corners. Fasten off.
PILLOW: With No. 4 Hook and Knitting Worsted, ch 62. Work pattern same as cover until piece measures 10 inches. Work border and edging same as on cover.
SACQUE: Yoke—With No. 2 Hook and Baby Yarn, ch 83. Row 1—Work 1 dc in each ch, ch 2, turn. Row 2—Increase 1 st in every 3rd st. Row 3—1 dc in each st. Row 4—Increase 1 st in every 4th st. Row 5—1 dc in each st. Row 6—Increase 1 st in every 7th st. Row 7—1 dc in each st. Row 8—Increase 1 st in every 8th st. Row 9—1 dc in each st.
Left Front—* Skip 1 st, 6 dc in next st, skip 1 st, 1 sc in next st; repeat from * 5 times. Skip 34 sts, work 12 shells, skip 34 sts, Work 6 shells, ending with 1 sc. Work Rows 2 and 3 described for cover until 19 rows are made. Fasten off.
Sleeves—Starting at center of underarm, work 9 shells from end to end of armhole. Work back and forth in pattern for 15 rows.
Cuff—Work 4 sc over each shell for 1 row. Work 4 rows of sc, st for st. 1 row of shell st. Fasten off.
Neck Edge—Attach Yarn at neck edge, ch 5, skip 3 sts, 1 dc in next st *, ch 3, skip 3, 1 dc in next st; repeat from * across row. Work 1 row of shell st on front, and neck. Fasten off.
CAP: With No. 2 Hook and Baby Yarn, ch 3, join with sl st to form ring. Row 1—6 sc in ring. Row 2—2 sc in each st. Row 3—*1 sc in each of 1st 2 sts, 1 dc in 2nd st of previous row; repeat from * around row. Row 4—* 1 sc in each of 1st 3 sts, 1 dc around the post of the dc of previous row, inserting hook sideways; repeat from * around row. Continue increasing 1 st in each gore for 16 rows. Omit 1 gore for back of neck; work back and forth in shell st pattern over remaining 5 gores for 3½ inches. Work 1 row of sc across neck edge, skipping every 3rd st. Work 4 rows of sc, st for st. Fasten off. Front Edge— Work 1 row of sc, skipping every 4th st. 4 rows of sc, st for st. Fasten off. At 1st row of sc work 2 rows of shell st. Fasten off.
BOOTIES: With No. 2 Hook and Baby Yarn, ch 11. Work 10 rows of sc. Ch 28 and join to beginning of last row. Work 9 rows of sc around 3 sides of square and the 28 ch. Fasten off. Sew together across bottom. Starting at center back on top of boot, work pattern for 3 inches. Fasten off. Sew back seam. Make a ch 15 inches long, lace thru as illustrated, and trim with tassels at each end.
