Hat No. 800

Materials Required:

DRITZ Belastraw Art. No. 110, 1 tube

DRITZ Steel Crochet Hook No. 0 (Zero)

48 1/2 Millinery Wire.

GAUGE: 4 1/2 sc make 1".

CROWN: Work same as Crown on Swash Swagger Hat No. 778 until there are 90 sc on rnd and piece measures about 6" across. Clamp 19 3/4" of wire to form a ring.

Next rnd: Working over wire, * insert hook in next sc and pull loop through, y o, through 1 loop, insert hook in same sc and pull loop through, y o, through 3 loops. Repeat from *. Work straight for 2 1/4".

Following rnd: * Sc in 17 sc, skip next sc. Repeat from * (85 sc).

BRIM: 1st rnd: * Sc in 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc. Repeat from * (113 sc).

2nd, 3rd, and 4th rnds: Sc in each sc.

5th rnd: * Sc in 8 sc, 2 sc in next sc. Repeat from * (125 sc).

6th, 7th and 8th rnds: Sc in each sc. Clamp remaining 28 3/4" of wire and work over it same as on Crown. Then work sl st in each st around. End off. Brush inside of Crown with sizing. Trim as illustrated or to suit individual taste.
