Materials Required:
AMERICAN THREAD "AUNT LYDIA'S" HEAVY RUG YARN
4 (5, 6)—70 yd. skeins Natural
Afghan Hook Size H OR ANY SIZE HOOK WHICH WILL RESULT IN STITCH GAUGE BELOW

GAUGE: 2 sts and 2 rows = 1 inch
Dress width across shoulder: 10 (10½, 11) inches
Dress width around chest: 33 (35, 37) inches

BACK: Starting at neck ch 29 (31, 33), pull last loop on hook up about ½ inch and leave loop on hook, insert hook in 2nd ch from hook, yo and pull through loop, yo and pull loop through pulling loop up to same length; leaving all loops on hook work a loop in same manner in each ch across—29 (31, 33) loops, then drop all loops from hook, turn. 2nd ROW: Insert hook in 1st loop, yo and pull loop through, yo and pull loop through pulling loop up to same length, (about ½ inch) leave loop on hook, insert hook in next loop, yo and pull loop through, yo and pull loop through pulling loop up to same length, leaving all loops on hook work a loop in same manner in each loop across row, drop all loops from hook, turn. Repeat 2nd row for pattern. Work even for 3 (3½, 4) inches from beg. NEXT 2 ROWS: Inc 1 st at beg and end of each row for underarm (to inc: work 2 loop sts in same loop)—33 (35, 37) loops. Continue in established pattern inc 1 st each edge every 3 inches 4 times—41 (43, 45) loops. Work even until 11½ (12½, 14) inches from underarm, or desired length to lower edge. NEXT ROW: Work 1 sc loosely in each loop, cut yarn.

FRONT: Work same as back.

FINISHING: Sew shoulder seams tog for 1 inch from armhole edge. Weave side seams. Work 1 round of s c around each armhole edge.
