MATERIALS: J. & P. Coats Knit-Cro-Sheen … Steel Crochet Hook No. 9.

TASSEL CAP … Starting at center, ch 10. Join with sl st to form ring. 1st rnd: Ch 3, 23 dc in ring. Join. 2nd rnd: Sc in same place as sl st, sc in each dc around. 3rd to 10th rnds incl: Sc in each sc around. 11th rnd: Sl st in next sc, sc in next sc, * skip 1 sc, 5 dc in next sc, skip 1 sc, sc in next sc. Repeat from * around. Join and break off.

TASSEL … Cut a cardboard 3½ inches wide and 5 inches long. Place a 10-inch strand of thread across length of cardboard. Wind a single strand of thread 200 times around cardboard. Pick up both ends of the 10-inch strand and tie securely (top). Remove cardboard and cut loops at other end. Wind a strand of thread tightly 10 times around about ⅜ inch from top and fasten securely.

CORD … Cut 12 strands of thread, each 24 inches long. Twist these strands tightly. Now double these strands and give them a twist in the opposite direction; knot free ends.
Sew to Tassel. Slip Cap over Tassel and sew in place.
