The collar consists of three individual tabs, and a neck band.

Side Tab. 1st row: Starting at inner rick rack row, attach thread to 1st point of rick rack, * ch 6, s c in next point, repeat from * until 8 loops are made, then make s c in each of next 5 points omitting ch 6 between s c's, ch 6 and continue as for other side until 8 loops are made. Cut rick rack. Ch 6, turn. 2nd row: S c in 1st loop, * ch 6, s c in next loop, repeat from * to within 5-s c group of previous row, then ch 3, s c in 3rd s c of 5-s c group, ch 3, s c in next ch-6 loop, ch 3, * sl st in center ch st of next free loop on opposite side, ch 3, sl st back in next ch-6 loop of previous row, ch 3, and repeat from * across. Break off. 3rd row: Attach thread to 1st point on outer edge of same rick rack and work a row of ch-6 loops along the 3 sides. Break off. To start outer rick rack row, attach thread to 1st point of another rick rack and make 10 ch-6 loops, then s c in each of next 2 points (this is first lower corner), make 5 more loops, then s c in each of next 2 points (second lower corner), ch 6, and continue as for other side to correspond. Cut rick rack. Ch 6, turn. 2nd row: S c in 1st loop, * ch 6, s c in next loop, repeat from * to within 1 loop from corner, then ch 6, s c in each of next 2 loops, make 3 more loops, then ch 6, s c in each of next 2 loops, ch 6, and continue as for other side to correspond. Ch 3, turn. 3rd row: Pick up inner rick rack row and join the outer rick rack row to the inner one the same way as the two sides of the inner rick rack row were joined (that is, making ch 3 and sl st). Break off. Attach thread to 1st point of outside edge of rick rack and work a row of ch-6 loops. Break off. Make another tab same as this.

Center Tab. Work as for side tab, but making one more row of rick rack, having 12 ch-6 loops along long inner sides, and 8 ch-6 loops across lower side not counting corners.

Make a box pleat in each of the three tabs. Place side tabs over center tab so that top edge measures 3 inches across. Sew in position. Then sew a row of rick rack around top edge to cover rough edges.

Neck Band. Cut a piece of rick rack 32 inches long, attach thread to 1st point and work a row of ch-6 loops. Double rick rack, taking care not to twist it and join with sl st to 1st point (this is outer edge). Break off. Attach thread at one point of inner edge and work a row of ch-6 loops. Then, ch 3, and join loops as for loops of tab. Break off.

Sew jabot to center of neck band. Fasten neck band with snap fastener.
