An oval chair set offers an interesting variation. This one, made with a large crochet hook produces a lacy effect that is very pleasing. If preferred, White, Ecru or Dark Linen might be chosen instead of the self-shading or solid Boilfast color.
DRESSER SET Materials:
Clark's O.N.T. 5 balls or J. & P. Coats 4 balls Mercerized Crochet No. 30. Color 13 Shaded Blue, or other shaded color desired.

This set consists of 3 pieces—two smaller ones for the ends and a larger one for the center.
PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS
Small Oval Doily or Armpiece. Ch 25, turn. 1st rnd: D c in 5th ch from hook, 1 d c in next st, * ch 1, skip 1 st, 1 d c in each of next 6 sts, repeat from * to end of ch (you will have 3 groups of d cs with 6 d c in a group), ch 1, 2 d c in last st, ch 1, 2 d c in same st (this makes a 2-d c shell). On opposite side of ch, * ch 1, 1 d c between d c of other side, till you complete group of 6 d c, skip 1 d c, repeat from * two more times, 1 d c in each of next 2 d c, ch 1, 2 d c in 1st ch-4 sp, ch 1, 2 d c in same sp. 2nd rnd: Ch 1, * 3 d c in ch-1 sp of previous round, ch 1, 3 d c in same sp (this is a shell) skip 3 d c of group of 6 d c, 1 d c between 3rd and 4th d c, and repeat from * 3 more times (thus having a group of 4 shells), 1 shell in next ch-1 sp, 1 shell in sp of 2-d c shell of end of ch. Work opposite side of this round in same way, only skip last ch-1 sp. 3rd rnd: 1 shell in each shell and 1 d c in each d c. 4th rnd: In the ch-1 sp just before making the end shell, make 1 d c, ch 1, 1 d c in same sp (this is to increase), then 1 shell in end shell, 2 d c with ch-1 between in next ch-1 sp. (Increases are always made just preceding and after the group of 4 shells.) Continue making shell in shell and d c in d c until you reach opposite end which is the same as first end just made. Continue making shell in shell and d c in d c to end of round making 1 shell in ch-1 sp between the 2 d cs, 1 shell on end shell, 1 shell on next ch-1 sp of 2 d cs, and continue pattern to end of round making opposite end same as 1st. 5th rnd: Just before the group of 4 shells make an increase. Shell in shell, 1 d c between 2 shells, shell in end shell, d c between shells, shell in shell, an increase between next 2 shells, and continue pattern working opposite end same way, and again continue pattern to end of round. In making a shell on each increase, 2 shells are made together without d c between to keep your pattern. On the next round when making these shells, make 1 d c between these 2 shells at ends, and continue for the following rounds.
Center Doily or Chair Back. Ch 33. Work 5 groups of d cs on ch instead of 3 groups. Continue as for smaller pieces.
