Materials Required—
AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "STAR" PEARL COTTON, SIZE 5
9 60-yd. Balls Black or any Color desired.
½ yd. Lining.
Steel Crochet Hook No. 7.

Ch 107, s d c in 2nd st from hook, (s d c: thread over, insert in st and work off all loops at one time) 1 s d c in each remaining ch, ch 2, turn.
2nd Row—1 s d c in each s d c, ch 2, turn.
Repeat 2nd row 68 times, break thread. Sew ends together.
Join thread in 1st free s d c at side, ch 7, * skip 3 sts, tr c in next st, ch 3, repeat from * all around, join in 4th st of ch 7. (54 meshes)
Next Row—Ch 7, tr c in tr c, ** ch 3, tr c in next tr c, puff st in next mesh (puff st: * thread over needle 3 times insert in mesh and work off 2 loops 3 times, repeat from * 7 times, thread over and work off all loops at one time, ch 1 to tighten st) tr c in next tr c, ch 3, tr c in next tr c, repeat from ** all around ending row with ch 3, tr c in next tr c, puff st in next mesh, join in 4th st of ch 7.
Next Row—Ch 7, * tr c in next tr c, ch 3, repeat from * all around, join in 4th st of ch 7. Repeat last row 3 times, then repeat last 5 rows twice.
Next Row—Sl st to center of mesh, * ch 10, skip next mesh, s c in next mesh, repeat from * all around.
Next Row—S c, s d c, 3 d c, 5 tr c, 3 d c, s d c, s c over each loop, join, break thread.
LINING. Cut lining a little smaller than bag, hem sides and sew in position in bag.
DRAW STRING. Work a ch with 10 4-yd. strands allowing about 1½ inches on each end for fringe. Trim fringe evenly and lace through 2nd row of meshes.
