Materials:
HIAWATHA Super Crepe Corde Art. 42, 5 tubes or

Steel crochet hook No. 00 or bone cro­chet hook No. 5

SIDES (Make 2)
Make a chain 15" long.
1st row—3 sc in 2nd ch from hook, * skip 2 ch, 3 sc in next ch. Repeat from * across until row measures 11½". Ch 1, turn. Cut off remaining chain.
2nd row—3 sc in center sc of 3-sc group of previous row, * 3 sc in center sc of next group. Repeat from * across. Ch 1, turn. Repeat 2nd row until piece measures 7".
Next row—Sc in front loop only of each st across top (top of bag will be worked in back loops later), 3 sc in corner, continue working sc along side and bottom edges, making 3 sc in each corner and having same number of sts along parallel ends.
Work border as follows: Sc in next 6 sc, ch 7, turn, sl st in 1st sc made, turn, work 12 sc over chain, sc in next 4 sts, * ch 7, turn, skip 2 sc inside of previous loop, sl st in next st, turn, work 12 sc over chain, sc in next 4 sts. Repeat from * around, in­creasing by working 3 sc in corners, thus keeping corners of bag squared. Last loop is made by working sl st in 1st 3 sc of rnd, then ch 7 and complete loop as before. Fasten off.
Attach corde at top of bag (behind border) and, working in back loops of designated sts, work sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn. Work 3 more rows of sc and fasten off. This completes one-half of top.

GUSSET
Make a chain 2" long and work in pattern st until piece is long enough to go around sides and bottom of bag. Fasten off.

FINISHING
Cut linings and interlining, following di­rections in kit H-113. Make bag lining (with slide fastener), inserting cardboard in gus­set. Sew crocheted gusset in place along sides and bottom of bag, inside of loop border. Insert lining in crocheted bag and sew along all seams. Sew ends of top pieces to ends of gusset. Make a 3" chain and at­tach pull to slide fastener tab.
