INSERTION … Starting at narrow edge, ch 9. 1st row: 3 dc in 9th ch from hook. Ch 8, turn. 2nd row: 3 dc in first dc. Ch 8, turn. Repeat 2nd row until strip reaches across towel. Do not break off. Now work across long side as follows: 1st row: Sc in turn­ing chain of previous row, * ch 5, sc in next loop. Repeat from * across, ending with ch 5, dc at base of first dc group. Ch 5, turn. 2nd row: Dc in first dc, * dc in next sp, in next sc make dc, ch 3 and dc. Repeat from * across, ending with dc, ch 3 and dc in 4th ch of turning chain. Ch 3, turn. 3rd row: Dc in first sp, * skip next dc, in next dc make dc, ch 3 and dc; dc in next sp. Repeat from * across, ending with dc in top of turning chain. Ch 5, turn. 4th row: Dc in first dc, * dc in next sp, skip next dc, in next dc make dc, ch 3 and dc. Repeat from * across. Break off. Work along opposite side the same way. Press insertion and sew neatly to towel.
