MATERIALS—D•M•C Pearl Cotton, Art. 116D, Size 8: 1 ball Rainbow Ombre No. 109 or No. 59 (A) and D • M • C Tatting Cotton, Art. 19: 1 ball White (B).
7½-inch Doll.
Beads, sequins, etc.
Steel Crochet Hooks, Size 7 and Size 4.

BODICE—Using size 7 hook, with A ch 41, dc in 5th ch from hook, work [ch 1, 1 dc] in every 2nd ch across (19 sps). Rows 2, 3—Ch 4, turn, dc in 2nd dc, [ch 1, 1 dc] in each remaining dc, ch 1, dc in 3rd ch of ch-4. Shoulder Strap—Ch 1, turn, slip st in each st to and including 3rd dc, ch 4, dc in next dc, ch 1, dc in next dc (2 sps). Rows 2 to 6 inclusive—Ch 4, turn, dc in 2nd dc, ch 1, dc in 3rd ch of ch-4 (2 sps). Fasten off. Skip 3 sps (for underarm), sew end of Shoulder Strap to next 2 sps at front Bodice; work other Shoulder Strap to correspond. With A work a row of sc around each armhole (about 3 sc in each sp), join (with slip st) in first sc, fasten off. Sleeves—Using size 4 hook, with B ch 13, sc in 2nd ch from hook, [ch 3, 1 sc] in each remaining ch (11 Loops). Rows 2 to 15—Ch 3, turn, sc in first Loop, [ch 3, 1 sc] in each remaining Loop (11 Loops). Row 16—Ch 3, turn, sc in first Loop, [ch 3, 1 sc] in each Loop to last Loop (10 Loops in row). Rpt row 16 five times having one Loop less in each succeeding row. Fasten off. Sew seams. Run a matching drawstring thru foundation ch. Ease Sleeves in and sew in place as shown. Put Bodice on Doll, sew back seam, tighten drawstrings at wrist, tie knot.

PANTIES—Using size 7 hook, with A ch 40, join (with slip st) into ring, ch 1, sc in joined st, sc in each of next 39 chs, join in first sc (40 sc). Rnds 2, 3, 4—Ch 3, turn, skip joined st, dc in each of next 39 sts, join (in top ch of ch-3). Front of Panties—Ch 3, turn, skip joined st, work a dec. as follows: yo, draw up a loop in next dc, yo, thru 2 loops (holding 2 loops on hook), yo, draw up a loop in next dc, yo, thru 2 loops, yo, draw thru all 3 loops on hook (a dec. made), dc in each of next 6 dc, work a dec., dc in each of next 6 dc, work a dec., dc in next dc. Row 2—Ch 3, turn, skip first dc, work a dec., dc in each of 5 dc, a dec., dc in each of 4 dc, a dec., dc in ch-3. Row 3—Ch 3, turn, skip first dc, a dec., dc in each of 3 dc, a dec., dc in each of 3 dc, a dec., dc in ch-3. Row 4—Ch 3, turn, skip first dc, a dec., dc in each of 2 dc, a dec., dc in next dc, a dec., dc in ch-3. Row 5—Ch 3, turn, skip first dc, [work a dec.] 3 times, dc in ch-3, fasten off. Work Back of Panties to correspond. Sew crotch seam. With A work 35 sc around each leg opening, join, fasten off. Run a matching drawstring at waistline. Pantaloons—Using size 4 hook, with B ch 22, sc in 2nd ch from hook, [ch 3, 1 sc] in each remaining ch (20 Loops). Rows 2 to 22—Ch 3, turn, sc in first Loop, [ch 3, 1 sc] in each remaining Loop (20 Loops). Row 23—Ch 3, turn, sc in first Loop, [ch 3, 1 sc] in each Loop to last 2 Loops (18 Loops in row). Rpt row 23 seven times having 2 Loops less in each succeeding row. Fasten off. Sew seams. Run a matching drawstring thru foundation ch. Sew shaped end of Pantaloons to leg opening of Panties as shown. Put Panties on Doll, tighten drawstring at waist to fit just below waistline as shown, tie knot. Tighten drawstrings at ankles, tie knot.

SHOES—Using size 7 hook, with A ch 6, join into ring, ch 7, work in ring 1 dtr, 3 long tr, 3 tr, 3 dc, 3 tr, 3 long tr, 3 dtr, 3 long tr, 3 tr, 3 dc, 3 tr, 3 long tr, 1 dtr, join in top ch of ch-7. Rnd 2—Ch 3, skip joined st, dc in each st around, join in top of ch-3. Rnd 3—Ch 3, skip joined st, dc in each of next 15 sts, tr in next st, long tr in each of next 2 sts, ch 4, slip st in last long tr made (Picot made), long tr in next st, tr in next st, dc in each of next 15 sts, join in ch-3, fasten off. Run a matching drawstring thru top of Shoes (leaving 4 sts free on each side of Picot), put Shoes on, tighten drawstring to fit ankles snugly, tie knot. Band Around Back of Head—With A chain for 1¼ inches, fasten off. Make head and face veil of suitable sheer fabric. Decorate with beads, sequins, etc. as desired.
