With Black embroider eye using French Knot.
Appliqué peacock to pillow case as illustrated. Cut away material from underneath tail part of bird, leaving ⅛ inch to turn under and overcast.
EDGE—Attach Green at side of tail and work a row of s c around lower edge of pillow case to opposite side, ch 5, turn.
2nd Row—Skip 3 s c, s c in next s c, * ch 5, skip 3 s c, s c in next s c, repeat from * to same space at opposite side.
3rd Row—Ch 1, turn, 3 s c in 1st loop, ch 3, sl st in top of last s c for picot, 2 s c in same loop, * 3 s c in next loop, ch 3, sl st in top of last s c for picot, 2 s c in same space, repeat from * all around to same space at opposite side, cut thread.
BRANCH—With Shaded Browns ch 80, s d c in 3rd st from hook (s d c: thread over hook, insert in st, pull through, thread over and pull through all loops at one time), 1 s d c in each remaining st of ch, cut thread. Work another branch in same manner starting with ch 40. Work 4 more branches in same manner, starting with ch 25, then work one starting with ch 15. Sew in position on case as illustrated. Work another pillow case in same manner.
