MATERIALS REQUIRED:
Lily SKYTONE Mercerized Crochet Cotton:–4-balls Cream (Sufficient for Centerpiece. 4 Place Mats and 4 Coaster Cups).
Crochet hook No. 11.

DOILY–Ch 12, join with sl st to form ring. ROW 1–Ch 1, 20 sc in ring, join to 1st sc. ROW 2–Ch 4, dc in next sc, (ch 1, dc in next sc) 18 times, ch 1, join to 3d st of ch-4. ROW 3–Sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 12, dtr in next sp, (ch 5, dtr in next sp) 18 times, ch 2, join with dc in 7th st of ch-12. ROW 4–(5 dc in 1 lp of next dtr, sc in next ch-5 lp) 20 times. ROW 5–Sl st to center dc of next shell, * ch 8, sl st in 4th ch from hook for a p, ch 6, p, ch 5, sc in center dc of next shell. Repeat from * around, join and fasten off. ROW 6–Join to center of 1 lp, (sc, ch 4, sl st in 4th ch from hook, sc) in same lp, * ch 8, p, ch 6, p, ch 5, (sc, ch-4 p, sc) in next lp. Repeat from * around, join to 1st sc. Fasten off. ROW 7–Repeat Row 6 to *. (Ch 13, sc, p and sc in next lp) repeated around, join to 1st sc. Fasten off. ROW 8–Join to center st of 1 lp, ch 5, 6 tr in same st, (ch 5, 7 tr in center st of next lp) repeated around, join to top of ch-5. ROW 9–Ch 5, tr in next tr, * holding back the last lp of each tr on hook, make tr in next 3 tr, thread over and draw thru all lps on hook (Cluster made), tr in next 2 tr made into a Cluster, ch 12, (tr in 1st 2 tr in next group) made into a Cluster. Repeat from * around. Join with ch 6, tr in 1st tr. ROW 10–Hdc, 4 tr, hdc and sc over bar of last tr, * sc in next tr-Cluster, ch 9, sk 2 ch, sc in next ch, hdc in next ch, dc in next 3 ch, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch, sk next (center) Cluster, sc in next Cluster, (sc, hdc, 4 dc, hdc, ch 1, sl st, ch 1, hdc, 4 dc, hdc and sc) in next ch-12 lp. Repeat from * around. ROW 11–* Ch 9, (tr, ch 9, tr) in tip of next center petal, ch 9, sc between next 2 petals. Repeat from * around. ROW 12–Sl st to 6th st of next ch-9 lp, ch 14, * (tr, ch 9, tr) in center st of next ch-9 lp, ch 9, (tr in 4th st of next ch-9 lp, tr in 6th st of next ch 9 lp) made into a Cluster, ch 9 and repeat from * around, end with ch-9, tr in 4th st of next lp, sl st in 5th st of ch-14. ROW 13–Sl st in next 6 ch, ch 8, tr tr in 2d ch of next ch-9 lp, * (ch 3, tr tr in next ch) 3 times, ch 3, tr tr in same ch with last tr tr, (ch 3, tr tr in next ch) 3 times, ch 3, (tr in 4th ch of next lp, tr in 6th ch of next lp) made into a Cluster, ch 3, tr tr in 2d ch of next ch-9 lp. Repeat from * around. End with ch 3, tr in 4th ch of next lp, join with sl st in 5th st of ch-8. ROW 14–Sl st to next tr tr, ch 7, dc in next tr tr, (ch 4, dc in next tr tr) 5 times, * ch 4, (dc in next tr tr, dc in 1st tr tr of next shell) made into a Cluster, (ch 4, dc in next tr tr) 6 times. Repeat from * around. Join to 3d st of ch-7. ROW 15–* 3 sc in next ch-4 sp, (2 sc in next sp, ch 9, sl st in 9th ch from hook for a p, 2 sc in same sp) 5 times, 3 sc in next sp. Repeat from * around. Join to 1st sc. Fasten off. Make 5 for Centerpiece and 4 Place Mats.

COASTER CUP–Repeat thru Row 1. ROW 2–Ch 5, tr in same st, 2 tr in each sc around, join to ch-5 (40 tr). ROW 3–Ch 5, tr in same st, (tr in next tr, 2 tr in next tr) repeated around. Join (60 tr). Repeat for Row 4 (90 tr). ROW 5–Ch 3, dc in back lp of each tr around. Join. ROW 6–* Sk 4 dc, (ch 3, tr) 4 times in next dc, ch 3, sk 4 dc, sc in next dc. Repeat from * around. ROW 7–Ch 8, tr in center sp of next shell, (ch 3, tr in same sp) 3 times, * ch 3, tr in sc between shells, (ch 3, tr) 4 times in center sp of next shell. Repeat from * around, join to 5th st of ch-8. Fasten off. ROW 8–Join to center st of one shell, ch 5, 6 tr in same st, (ch 5, 7 tr in center st of next shell) repeated around, join to top of ch-5. Repeat Rows 9 and 10 of Doily. Fasten off. Make 4.

Dip Doilies and Coaster Cups in heavy, hot starch. Roll in a cloth to absorb excess. Stretch and pin Doilies right-side-down in true circle. Press thru a cloth then let remain in position until dry. Fit Coaster Cups over large glasses or jars until dry.
