Cut a piece of ribbon slightly longer than outer edge of hat. Weave ribbon through last rnd of hat, going under each 5-tr group and over the following tr. Tack ends in place on wrong side, being careful to keep to desired head size. Weave ribbon through next 5 rnds the same way. Thread a needle with sewing thread, attach this thread to base of center tr on any 5-tr group on last rnd. Thread 2 small beads through needle, insert needle through hole of sequin, string 2 more beads, insert needle back in place where thread was attached. Fasten securely (thus suspending sequin). Sew sequins in this manner to center tr of each 5-tr group on Hat.
CORD ... Cut 6 strands of Black, each 1 yard long. Twist these strands tightly, then double these strands and give them a twist in the opposite direction. Fasten ends securely. Cut buckram in a 2-inch circle and slash to the center. Place free ends over one another, thus forming a cone shape. Starting at center top, twist cord around cone, tacking cord in place until cone has been completely covered. Tack cone in place on top of Hat. Sew jet button to top of cone.
