GAUGE: 3 sts = 1 inch

With White ch 2, 12 s c in 1st ch, join in 1st s c. 2nd ROUND: Ch 3 (counts as 1st d c), d c in same space, 2 d c in each remaining s c, join all rounds. 3rd ROUND: Ch 1, s c in same space, 2 s c in next d c, * s c in next d c, 2 s c in next d c, repeat from * all around (36 sts). 4th ROUND: Ch 3, d c in same space, 1 d c in each of the next 2 s c, * 2 d c in next s c, 1 d c in each of the next 2 s c, repeat from * all around (48 sts). 5th ROUND: Ch 1, 1 s c in each d c. 6th ROUND: Ch 3, working in d c inc in every 4th s c (60 sts). 7th ROUND: Ch 1, working in s c inc in every 5th d c (72 sts). 8th ROUND: Ch 3, 1 d c in each remaining s c. 9th ROUND: Ch 1, 1 s c in each d c. Repeat last 2 rounds 8 times. NEXT ROUND: Ch 3, 1 d c in each remaining s c. NEXT ROUND: (Beading) Ch 1, s c in same space, 1 s c in each of the next 6 d c, * ch 3, skip 2 d c, s c in next d c, ch 3, skip next 2 d c, 1 s c in each of the next 7 d c, repeat from * all around ending to correspond, join. NEXT ROW: (POINT) Ch 3, 1 d c in each of the next 6 s c, ch 1, turn. NEXT ROW: 1 s c in each st, turn. NEXT ROW: Ch 3, dec in next 2 s c (to dec: keeping last loop of each st on hook 1 d c in each of the next 2 s c, yarn over hook and work off all loops at one time), 1 d c in each of the next 2 sts, dec in next 2 sts, turn. NEXT ROW: Ch 1, 1 s c in each st, turn. NEXT ROW: Ch 3, dec in next 2 sts, dec in next 2 sts, cut yarn. Skip the next 2 meshes, attach yarn in 1st s c of next s c group, work another point in same manner. Work 1 point in each remaining s c group.

BRAIDED TRIM: (Make 6) Cut twelve 50 inch lengths of Bongo. Tie one end. Divide into 3 equal parts. Braid, keeping work flat. Starting at center at lower edge, sew a braid up side of bag, around point and down to center. Sew remaining braids in same manner. Tie end of braid together to form tassel.

TIES: (Make 2). With Bongo work a ch 32 inches long, then sl st in each st, cut yarn. Lace a tie through beading, keeping points to front, tie both ends. Lace another braid through beading starting at opposite side.
