With Pink crochet a chain about 1½ yards long and lace through ch 1 spaces.

TISSUE TOPPER

With Pink ch 44, join taking care not to twist ch, 1 s c in 1st st of ch, 1 s c in each of the next 2 chs, * 3 s c in next ch, 1 s c in each of the next 3 chs, skip 2 chs, 1 s c in each of next 3 chs, repeat from * all around ending with 3 s c in next ch, 1 s c in each of the next 3 chs. Do not join, place a marker at beg of each round. NEXT ROUND: Attach Peach, skip last ch and 1st s c, continue in established pat­tern of 1st round. Work 2 more rounds Peach, then 2 rounds Pink, 2 rounds Cerise, 2 rounds Pink, 2 rounds Peach. NEXT ROUND: With Pink work in pattern working 5 s c in center st of each point. NEXT ROUND: Work same as last round having 4 s c on each side of center st. NEXT ROUND: With Cerise work same as last round having 5 s c on each side of center st. NEXT ROUND: Work 1 sl st in each st, cut yarn. Draw points tog at top and steam.

POMPON: Wind Cerise 50 times over a 2 inch cardboard. Slip off cardboard, tie in center, cut both ends and trim into shape. Attach to top of cover as illustrated.
