DRAWSTRING BAG

Materials Required: AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "AUNT LYDIA'S" HEAVY RUG YARN, Article 235
4 skeins Turquoise
1 skein Lt. Yellow
Aluminum crochet hook size H

With Turquoise ch 52, d c in 3rd st from hook, s c in next st, * ch 2, d c in same st, skip 2 chs, s c in next ch, repeat from * to end of ch, turn.
2nd Row—* Ch 2, d c in same space, s c in next s c, re­peat from * to last s c, ch 2, d c in same space, s c in ch 2 loop, turn. Repeat the last row 9 times, cut yarn.
12th Row—Attach Lt. Yellow and work same as 2nd row, cut yarn.
13th Row—Attach Turquoise and work same as 2nd row, cut yarn.
Repeat the last 2 rows twice, do not cut yarn at end of last row.
Next 5 Rows—Work same as 2nd row, cut yarn. Working on opposite side of starting ch, and with right side of 1st row toward you, attach Turquoise, * ch 2, d c in same space, s c in same space with s c of 1st row, repeat from * across row ending with s c in end st, turn. Repeat from 2nd row to end of 1st section. Fold work in half and sew the 2 sides together.

Next Row—Beading: With right side of bag toward you attach Turquoise at joining, ch 7, tr c in next s c, * ch 3, tr c in next s c, repeat from * 14 times, ch 3, tr c in joining, * ch 3, tr c in next s c, repeat from * around remainder of work, ch 3, join in 4th st of ch, turn.
Next Row—Ch 2, d c in same space, s c in next tr c, * ch 2, d c in same space, s c in next tr c, repeat from * all around ending with sl st in joining, cut yarn, turn.
Next Row—Attach Lt. Yellow and work same as 2nd row, ending with sl st, turn.
Next 2 Rows—Attach Turquoise and work same as last row, cut yarn at end of last row.

Tie: With Turquoise work a chain about 30 inches long, sl st in 2nd st from hook, 1 sl st in each remaining st of ch, cut yarn. Work another tie in same manner. Lace 1 tie through beading. Lace other tie at opposite side. Tie free ends together.
