Crocheted Doll Pattern #5325

Materials Required: AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "DAWN" WORSTED FLOSS, ARTICLE W16
1—1 oz. Ball White and 1—50 yd. Ball "Star" Pearl Cotton, Article 90, Size 5, Pink or Blue.
6 Small Bells.
Kapok or Cotton for filling.
Bone Crochet Hook No. 3 and Steel Crochet Hook No. 8.

With Worsted Floss and using bone crochet hook, ch 2, work 6 s c in 1st st of ch. Do not join rounds.
2nd Round. 2 s c in each s c.
3rd Round. * 1 s c in 1st s c, 2 s c in next s c, repeat from * 5 times.
4th Round. * 1 s c in each of the 1st 2 s c, 2 s c in next s c, repeat from * 5 times (24 s c).
Next 4 Rounds. 1 s c in each s c.
9th Round. Start decreasing, * 1 s c in each of the next 2 s c, to decrease insert needle in next s c, pull loop through, insert needle in next s c, pull loop through and work off as an s c, repeat from * 5 times. 10th Round. * 1 s c in next s c, decrease 1 st, repeat from * 5 times, break yarn leaving a 5 inch length, fill with cotton. Thread the 5 inch length in needle and draw opening together. Make 11 more ball sections in same manner.
DISKS. Using "Star" Pearl Cotton and No. 8 needle, repeat the 1st 4 rounds.
5th Round. * 1 s c in each of the next 3 s c, 2 s c in next s c, repeat from * 5 times (30 s c) join, ch 1.
6th Round. 1 s c in each s c, join, break thread. Work 7 more disks in the same manner.
HAT. Ch 2, 6 s c in 1st st of ch.
2nd Round. 2 s c in each s c, then work 1 round even. Do not join rounds.
4th Round. * 1 s c in next s c, 2 s c in next s c, repeat from * 5 times.
5th, 6th & 7th Rounds. 1 s c in each s c.
8th Round. * 1 s c in each of the next 2 s c, 2 s c in next s c, repeat from * all around.
9th, 10th & 11th Rounds. 1 s c in each s c.
12th Round. * 1 s c in each of the 1st 3 s c, 2 s c in next s c, repeat from * all around.
13th, 14th & 15th Rounds. 1 s c in each s c, break thread.
To Assemble Doll. Sew 4 ball sections together, sewing a disk between each section. Sew the hat to the one to be used as the head. Use 2 ball sections for each arm and leg, sewing a disk between. Sew arms to the side of the section under head. Sew last disk under the last ball sec­tion of body. Place legs in position and sew. Sew bells to arms, legs and hat. Embroider eyes with 2 sts of black thread, working over 1 s c. Mouth is worked with Red, 2 sts over 2 s c.
