  1—100 yd. Ball  "STAR" Rayon Crochet Thread, Article 700 will trim the entire set. 
  3 yds. ¼ inch  Ribbon. 
  Bone Crochet Hook  No. 1 or No. 2. 
  Steel Crochet Hook  No. 9. 
JACKET
BACK. With Bone crochet  hook, ch 55, about 9 inches, 1 s c in 2nd st from hook, 1 d c in next st, * 1 s  c in next st, 1 d c in next st, repeat from * 25 times, ch 1 to turn each row. 
  2nd Row. 1 s c in 1st d c,  1 d c in next s c, * 1 s c in next d c, 1 d c in next s c, repeat from * 25  times (the 1 s c in d c and 1 d c in s c forms the pattern). 
  Repeat the 2nd row  27 times. 
  30th Row. Slip st back over  2 patterns for underarm, ch 1, work 23 patterns across back omitting the last 2  patterns, continue even over the 23 patterns for 11 more rows. 
  42nd Row. Work 7 patterns  for shoulder, slip st over the next 9 patterns for neck, ch 1, work in pattern  to end of row, break yarn. 
  RIGHT FRONT. Ch 29, work 14  patterns on ch, work 28 more rows of pattern even. 
  30th Row. Work 1 pattern in  each of the 1st 12 patterns omitting the last 2 patterns for underarm, then  work 11 more rows of pattern even. 
  42nd Row. Slip st over the  1st 5 patterns for neck, ch 1, work in pattern to end of row, break yarn. 
  LEFT FRONT. Work the 1st 29  rows same as right front. 
  30th Row. Slip st over the  1st 2 patterns, ch 1, work 1 pattern in each of the next 12 patterns, then  work 11 more rows of pattern even. 
  42nd Row. Work 7 patterns,  then slip st over the last 5 patterns for neck, break yarn. 
  RIGHT FRONT BAND. Attach yarn at  lower edge of right front and work 1 s c in each row up to neck, ch 1 to turn  each row. 
  2nd Row. 1 s c in each s c. 
  3rd Row. Working in back  loop of st only, work 1 s c in each s c. Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows once, break  yarn. 
  LEFT FRONT BAND. Attach yarn at neck  edge and work 1 s c in each row down the front of jacket. Next 4 rows work in  same manner as right front, break yarn. Attach yarn at lower edge of center  back and work 1 row of s c all around jacket, working 1 s c in each st, break  yarn. 
  SLEEVES. Ch 35, work 17  patterns on ch, continue working in pattern for 23 more rows. 
  25th Row. Slip st over 2  patterns, ch 1 and work even over the next 13 patterns omitting the last 2  patterns. Work 6 more rows omitting the last pattern in each row, break yarn. 
  CUFF. Attach yarn at  lower edge of sleeve and work 34 s c for cuff, ch 1, turn. Work 4 more rows  same as front band, then work 1 more row of s c, break yarn. Sew seams of  jacket and sleeves, match sleeve seam to underarm seam of jacket and sew in  position. 
  SCALLOPS. Using steel crochet  hook, attach trim thread at lower edge of center back of jacket, * ch 4, skip 1  s c, slip st in next s c, ch 4, s c in same space, repeat from * all around,  join, break thread. 
  Attach thread in  1st free loop of 2nd row of right front band and work scallop to neck working  in the free loops, break thread. Work left front band in the same manner. Work  2 rows around each cuff. Turn front down about 2 inches and finish with ribbon  ties. 
BONNET
Ch 77, about 12  inches, work 1 s c in 2nd st from hook, 1 s c in each of the next 6 sts, work  31 patterns (same as jacket) over the next 62 sts, then work 1 s c in each of  the last 7 sts of ch. Ch 1 to turn each row. 
  2nd Row. (The 1st and last 7  s c of each row are the neck edge of bonnet and are worked in the back loop of  st only, remainder is worked in pattern), 1 s c in each of the 1st 7 s c, then  work 31 patterns, 1 s c in each of the last 7 s c. Repeat 2nd row until work  measures about 5½ inches, break yarn. Fold work in half matching the ribbing  and sew up the back to form bonnet. 
  Turn Back. Attach yarn at  front of bonnet just above ribbing and work 1 s c in each s c and d c across  front omitting the last 7 s c of ribbing, ch 1, turn and work 8 more rows of s  c, working in the back loop of st only, break yarn. Attach trim thread in  ribbing at neck edge and work scallop all around turn back working in the same manner  as scallop on jacket, break thread. 
  POMPON. Wind yarn around 2  fingers 50 times, slip from fingers and tie around center, cut both ends, trim  and comb, attach to top of bonnet. Lace ribbon through beading just above  ribbing, tie in a bow at back. 
BOOTIES
Soles — Ch 15 about 2⅛  inches, work 2 s c in 2nd st from hook, 2 s c in next st of ch, s c in each of  the next 10 sts of ch, 2 s c in next st of ch, 3 s c in last st of ch, working  on the other side of ch, 2 s c in next st, 1 s c in each of the next 10 sts, 2  s c in next st, 1 s c in same space with 1st 2 s c. 
  2nd Round. Without joining  rounds, 2 s c in each of the next 3 s c, (heel) 1 s c in each of the next 12 s  c, 2 s c in each of the next 5 s c, (toe) 1 s c in each of the next 12 s c, 2 s  c in each remaining st. 
  3rd Round. Start pattern. Work  even in pattern (same as jacket) to toe, over the 10 s c of toe work 1 pattern  in each s c, continue even around remainder of sole. 
  4th to 9th Rounds. Work even in  pattern. 
  10th Round. Work even to toe,  over the 10 toe patterns, decrease as follows: insert needle in next st, pull  loop through, insert needle in next st, pull loop through, yarn over and work  off as a d c, remainder of round is worked even in pattern. 
  11th Round. Work in pattern  decreasing over the 10 toe sts. 
  12th Round. Work in pattern  decreasing 3 times over toe. 
  13th Round. Beading, ch 4,  work 1 d c with ch 1 between in each st, join to 3rd st of ch 4. 
  14th Round. Slip st to ch 1  mesh, ch 1, 1 s c in same space, * 1 d c in next ch 1 mesh, 1 s c in next 1 ch  mesh, repeat from * all around. Work 6 more rounds of pattern even, ch 1, turn. 
  2lst Round. Working in the back  loop of st only, work 1 s c in each st, without turning, work 4 more rounds in  the same manner, break yarn. Attach trim thread and work scallop around top of  bootee, break thread. Lace ribbon through beading, tie in bow. 
MITTS
WRIST BAND. Ch 10, work 9 s c  on ch, ch 1 to turn each row. 
  2nd Row. Working in the  back loop of st only, work 1 s c in each s c. Work 30 more rows or until work  measures about 5 inches, fold band and crochet the 2 short ends together with a  row of slip sts. 
  BEADING. Ch 4, 1 d c in next  row, * ch 1, 1 d c in next row, repeat from * all around, ch 1, join to 3rd st  of ch 4 (having 32 ch 1 meshes).
Start Hand. Slip st to 1 ch  mesh, ch 1, 1 s c in same space, * 1 d c in next 1 ch mesh, 1 s c in next 1 ch  mesh, repeat from * all around and continue working in pattern for 11 more  rounds or until work measures 2¾ inches, then decrease in the same manner as  bootee until 6 sts remain, break yarn having a length long enough to thread a  needle and draw together.
