MATERIALS: J. & P. Coats Crochet Cord, 1 ball each of Ecru and Spanish Red … Steel Crochet Hook No. 5 ... A bone ring.

Use thread double throughout.

With Ecru, make a chain about 8 inches long. 1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next ch, * dc in next 2 ch, sc in next 2 ch. Repeat from * across until row measures 6½ inches, ending with 2 dc. Drop Ecru, attach Red, ch 1, turn. 2nd row: Working over unused color in order to conceal it, * sc in next 2 dc, dc in next 2 sc. Repeat from * across. Drop Red, with Ecru ch 1, turn. Repeat the 2nd row, changing color at end of each row, until piece measures 6½ inches square, ending with an Ecru row. Break off. Sew on bone ring.
