1st row: Ch 72, turn; sl st in 16th ch from hook, turn. 2nd row: Working over cord (or 4 strands of same thread), make 2 s c in each of 1st 15 sts; then s c in each st across to within last 15 sts, 2 s c in each of remaining 15 sts, sl st in 16th ch from hook, on foundation chain. Let cord hang; turn. 3rd row: * S c in each of next 3 s c, ch 3, s c in 3rd ch from hook (p). Repeat from * across, ending with sl st in sl st. Ch 5, turn. 4th row: * D c in center s c between next 2 p's, ch 2, d c in same place as last d c, ch 2. Repeat from * 7 more times, ** d c between next 2 p's, ch 2. Repeat from ** to within 9th p from other end of scroll. Work other end to correspond, ending with ch 5, s c in sl st. Turn. 5th row: Over cord, make 2 s c, p, 2 s c in each sp. Fasten off.
