We suggest thread in sizes 20 to 50.
Make a chain slightly longer than desired length. 1st row: In 10th ch from hook make 2 tr, holding back the last loop of each tr on hook; thread over and draw through all loops on hook (a cluster). Ch 5, cluster in same place as last cluster was made, * ch 5, skip 4 ch, s c in next ch, ch 5, skip 4 ch, in next ch make 2 clusters with ch-5 between. Repeat from * across, ending with ch-5 after last 2 clusters, skip 4 ch, s c in next ch. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: In each of next 2 ch-5 loops make 3 s c, ch 3, s c in 3rd ch from hook (p), and 3 s c; * ch 10, drop loop from hook, insert hook between s c’s at tip of 1st of 2 clusters, and draw dropped loop through. In ch-10 loop make: 5 s c, (ch-3 p, 2 s c) 3 times, and 3 s c. In each of next 3 loops make 3 s c, p and 3 s c. Repeat from * across. Fasten off.
