Materials: Clark's O.N.T. (5 balls) or J. & P. Coats (4 balls) Mercerized Crochet, size 30, Blue.
Milward's steel crochet hook No. 9.
1¼ yds. pink organdy, 44 inches wide.

When completed, curtain measures 35 inches long by 43 inches wide.

Gauge: 5 sps make 1 inch; 5 rows make 1 inch.

Starting at bottom, make a chain to measure about 47 inches, turn. 1st row: D c in 8th ch from hook (1 sp made), * ch 2, skip 2 ch, d c in next ch (another sp made). Repeat from * across until 215 sps are made. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 5, turn. 2nd to 5th rows incl: Make sp over sp across. Ch 5, turn. 6th row: Make 60 sps, 2 d c in next sp, d c in next d c (1 bl made); make 5 more bls, 8 sps, 9 bls, 11 sps, 4 bls, 8 sps, 3 bls, 8 sps, 4 bls, 11 sps, 9 bls, 8 sps, 6 bls, 60 sps. Ch 5, turn. Hereafter follow chart from "X" until design is completed. Then make 5 rows of sps. Break off.

Cut a piece of organdy 26 inches long and the full width of material. Sew a ¼ inch hem on both selvage edges. Fold over 2½ inches of one other edge and make a heading with a 1-inch casing for rod. Make a ¼-inch hem on opposite edge and sew to top edge of filet insertion. Cut another piece of organdy 12 inches long and the full width of material. Make a ¼-inch hem on both selvage edges. Turn down ¼ inch on remaining edges and press. Then fold this piece in half (to measure 5½ x 43 inches), and press. Sew this double thickness to bottom of filet insertion.
