This amount is sufficient for 1 pair of curtains.

When completed, each curtain measures about 79 x 33 inches.

Gauge: 6 sps make 1 inch; 6 rows make 1 inch.

Each curtain is made of 7 individual strips, which are then sewed together.

First Strip. Starting at "A", make a chain to measure about 6 inches, turn. 1st row: D c in 4th ch from hook, d c in each ch across until 82 d c are made, counting turning ch as 1 d c (27 bls). Cut off remaining chain. Ch 3, turn. 2nd row: Make bl over 1st bl, 11 sps, 3 bls, 11 sps, 1 bl. Ch 3, turn. Hereafter follow chart to "B". Then repeat from "A" to "B" 2 more times. Break off. This completes first strip. Make 3 more strips same as this.

Second Strip. Starting at "X", make a chain about 6 inches long, turn. 1st row: Same as 1st row of first strip. 2nd row: 12 bls, 3 sps, 12 bls. Ch 3, turn. Hereafter follow chart to "B". Then repeat from "A" to "B" twice, and then from "A" to "X". Break off. This completes second strip. Make 2 more strips same as this.

To join, alternate first and second strips, having 2nd, 4th and 6th strips extend 16 rows beyond other four strips at bottom of curtain (see illustration), and sew together on wrong side.

Fringe. * Cut 15 strands, each 8 inches long. Double these strands, forming a loop. Pull loop through first space on first strip, and draw loose ends of fringe through this loop. Pull tight. Repeat from *, making fringe in every other space on every other strip. Trim fringe evenly.

Casing for rod is worked on same strips which have been trimmed with fringe. Starting at top corner of first strip, ** ch 20, sl st in 10th row, 10 sts to left. Ch 20, sl st in 20th st from last st at top edge. Repeat from ** across strip. Break off.

Make another curtain same as this. Block on a curtain stretcher and hang.
