Insertion and Lace C Pattern

INSERTION C

MATERIALS REQUIRED.—Royal Society Crochet Cotton, size 3 or 5, White or Ecru.

First Row: Ch. 18, miss 7, 1 d. c. in next, Ch. 6, miss 6, 1 d. c. in next, Ch. 3, miss 2, 1 d. c. in next. Turn at each new row.

Second Row: Ch. 2, 3 s. c. in first hole, 1 s. c., 8 d. c., 1 s. c. in next hole and 3 s. c. in last.

Third Row: Ch. 6, 1 d. c. just above the d. c. of first row, Ch. 3, 1 d. c. in last stitch. Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows 11 times. Fasten off ends and crochet the border. 1 s. c. in first hole, Ch. 5, 1 s. c. in same hole, Ch. 5, 1 s. c. in each following hole. When you reach last hole add another Ch. 3 and one s. c. into the same hole. Turn, Ch. 3, 1 s. c. in each hole. Turn, 4 s. c. over each hole. Both borders are worked alike.

LACE C

MATERIALS REQUIRED.—Royal Society Crochet Cotton, size 3 or 5, White or Ecru.

Crochet insertion and one side of border.

For lace points: (*) Picot (Ch. 4, 1 s. c. in 1st), 3 s. c. over first hole, 3 s. c. over the next two holes. Cr. 9, miss 5 stitches counting from left to right, 1 s. c. in next. Over this large loop 4 s. c., P., 3 s. c., P., 3 s. c., P., 4 s. c., 3 s. c. over next small hole. Repeat from (*).
