MATERIALS REQUIRED—1 ball Royal Society Crochet Cotton, color 1000, Pale Blue, size 5, and 1 ball Royal Society Crochet Cotton, White, size 5. Crochet hook, No. 7.

First Row.—Ch. 32, skip 11, catch back with 1 s. c., ch. 7, skip 4, 1 s. c., ch. 7, skip 4, 1 s. c., ch. 7, skip 4, 1 s. c., ch. 7, skip 4, 1 s. c. Turn.

Second Row.—Ch. 7, 1 s. c. into first loop, ch. 7, 1 s. c. into next, ch. 7, 1 s. c. into third, ch. 7, 1 s. c. into fourth, ch. 7, 1 s. c. into fifth. Turn and repeat second row until 30 rows are made. Turn.

Thirty-first Row.—Ch. 7, 1 s. c. into first hole, ch. 4, 1 s. c. into next, ch. 4, 1 s. c. into third, ch. 4, 1 s. c. into fourth, ch. 4, 1 s. c. into fifth, ch. 3, 5 d. c. into same hole, 1 d. c. into following spoke, 5 d. c. into each hole at side and 1 d. c. into spoke. At each corner make 5 d. c., ch. 1, 5 d. c. into same. Finish-off.

Thirty-second Row.—Ch. 14, catch with s. c. into the corner stitch. Turn. 13 s. c. into the ch. just made. Turn. Ch. 14, catch into the same corner stitch. Turn. 11 s. c. into the ch. last made. Turn. Ch. 14, skip 2 d. c., 1 s. c. into next. Turn. 11 s. c. Turn. Ch. 14, skip 4 d c., 1 s. c. into next. Turn. 11 s. c. Turn. Ch. 14, skip 4 d. c., 1 s. c. Turn. 11 s. c. Turn. Thirty-third Row.—Ch. 3, 1 d. c. into first stitch, ch. 1, 2 d. c. into next stitch, 3 d. c. into first hole, 2 d. c. into next 2 stitches, 3 d. c. into hole. Continue around. Connect with sl. st.

Thirty-fourth Row.—Ch. 4, catch back into first ch. to form picot, skip 1, 4 s. c., 1 into each, ch. 4, picot, skip 1, 4 s. c. Continue around.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR DAISY.

Ch. 6, join to form ring. Ch. 10, skip 1, 2 s. c. one into each, 5 d. c., 2 s. c., catch over to other side of ch., 10 s. c., 1 into each, ch. 2, 10 s. c., 1 s. c. into loop of ch. 6, (*) ch. 10, skip 1, 2 s. c., 5 d. c., 2 s. c. catch over with sl. st. to other side of ch. Fold first petal over second, sl. st. into it, 4 s. c. into both petals, thus connecting them, 5 s. c. into second petal up to the point, ch. 2, 10 s. c. over the other side, 1 s. c. into loop. Repeat from (*) for four more petals, when the sixth petal is finished fold over on first and connect with 5 s. c.

The center of the daisy has 3 rows, of French Knots in Yellow Rope. Make French Knots with double thread once around the needle. Use Royal Society Rope Nos. 113 and 116. The pin cushion has 3 daisies.

These instructions for pin cushion are for a form 5-12. If a longer cushion is desired add as many rows to the first 30 rows as the desired length requires.
