Center Edging Pattern #6013

MATERIALS REQUIRED—1 ball Royal Society Crochet Cotton, White, size 5.

First Row.—1 sc. into the material, ch. 1, 1 sc. into the material, and so on all around.

Second Row.—1 sc. into first sc. of previous row, ch. 5, skip 3 st. of 1st row, 1 sc. into the next ch. 5, skip 3 st., 1 sc. into the next and so on all around.

Third Row.—1 sc. into the loop of ch. 5 of previous row, ch. 3, (*) 3 tr.c. into the next loop. (In making these tr.c. wind thread twice around the needle, crochet into the loop, draw thread through twice, two loops at a time, leaving two loops on the needle, make two more tr.c. the same way into the same loop which leaves 4 loops on the hook. Then draw the thread through the remaining loops two at a time.) Ch. 3, make 3 more tr.c. the same way into the same loop, ch. 3, 3 tr.c. again into the same loop, thus having made 9 tr.c. into one loop, ch. 3, 1 sc. into next loop, ch. 3, and repeat from (*) all around.

Fourth Row.—2 sc. into the loop of ch. 3 of previous row, (**) 2 sc. into the next loop, ch. 4, catch back into first chain to form picot, 2 sc. into the same loop, 2 sc. into next loop, ch. 4, form picot, 2 sc. into the same loop, 2 sc. into the next loop, 2 sc. into the following loop and repeat from (**) all around.
