CLARK'S O.N.T. "BRILLIANT," 1 ball.
Steel crochet hook No. 10.

Starting at center, ch 6. Join with sl st to form ring. 1st rnd: Ch 1, 12 sc in ring. Sl st in 1st sc made. 2nd rnd: Ch 3, in same place as sl st make dc, ch 2 and 2 dc; * dc in next 2 sc, in next sc make 2 dc, ch 2 and 2 dc. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st in top of 1st ch-3. 3rd rnd: Sl st in next dc, * 3 sc in sp, make an sc behind next dc as follows: Insert hook in sp from back to front of work, pass hook over next dc and insert hook between next 2 dc from front to back of work, thread over and draw loop through, and finish as for an sc. Make an sc behind each dc across to next sp. Repeat from * around. Sl st in 1st sc made. 4th rnd: Sl st in next sc, ch 3, in same place as last sl st make dc, ch 2 and 2 dc; * dc in each st across to within center sc of 3-sc group; in this sc make 2 dc, ch 2 and 2 dc. Repeat from * around. Join. Repeat the 3rd and 4th rnds alternately until piece measures same as size of compact, ending with the 3rd rnd. Fasten off.

Make another piece same as this. Sew crocheted pieces along edges of 3 sides, leaving the remaining side open.
