Coat Hangers Pattern #9371

MATERIALS:

J. & P. COATS CROCHET CORD, 2 balls of White or Ecru and 3 balls of any color.

Steel crochet hook No. 6.

5 HANGERS

No. 9371-A ... Starting at narrow end with color, ch 17 (to measure 2 inches). 1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: Sc in each sc across. Drop color, attach Ecru, ch 1, turn. 3rd row: Sc in 1st sc, * make a long sc—to make a long sc, insert hook in base of next st 2 rows below and draw loop through to height of row in work and complete as for an sc; skip sc behind long sc, sc in next sc. Repeat from * across. Ch 1, turn. 4th row: Sc in each st across. Drop Ecru, pick up color, ch 1, turn. 5th row: * Long sc over next sc (working in st 2 rows down as before), sc in next sc. Repeat from * across. Ch 1, turn. 6th row: Sc in each st across. Drop color, pick up Ecru. Ch 1, turn. Repeat the 3rd to 6th rows incl until piece measures same as length of hanger. Fasten off. Draw hook of hanger through center of crocheted piece and sew edges together, thus covering hanger.

No. 9371-B ... Work as for No. 9371-A until one third of hanger cover is com­pleted. Fasten off Ecru and work the next one third of cover in pattern, using color only; work remaining one third to correspond with first one third. Finish as before.

No. 9371-C ... Work as for No. 9371-B, using Ecru (instead of color) for center section.

No. 9371-D ... Work in pattern as before, using only color for both end sections and using both Ecru and color for center section.

No. 9371-E ... Work as for No. 9371-D, using Ecru (instead of color) for both end sections.
