Materials Required—
AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "DE LUXE" MERCERIZED CROCHET AND KNITTING COTTON, ARTICLE 346
4—175 yd. Balls Red of any Color desired and
"STAR" PEARL COTTON, ARTICLE 90, SIZE 5
1—50 yd. Ball White.
Steel Crochet Hook No. 7.

FRONT: With double strand of Red, ch 82 and work 81 s c on ch, ch 1, turn.
2nd Row—Work 1 s c in each s c, ch 1, turn.
Repeat 2nd row 49 times, break thread.
With double strand of White, ch 81, break thread. Sew to front section between 12th and 13th rows to indicate top flap.
BUTTON. With double strand of White, ch 3 and work 8 s d c in 1st st of ch (s d c: thread over needle, insert in st, pull through, thread over and work off all loops at one time) join in 1st s d c.
2nd Row—Ch 2, 2 s d c in same space, 2 s d c in each remaining st, join in 1st s d c.
3rd Row—Ch 2, 2 s d c in same space, * 1 s d c in next st, 2 s d c in next st, repeat from * all around, 1 s d c in last st, join in 1st s d c.
4th Row—Same as last row but increase in every 3rd st, break thread.
Sew to center of front section as illustrated.
BACK:
With double strand of Red, ch 41 and work same as front section, break thread. Work another section in same manner but do not break thread, ch 1, turn, join to last row of front section by working 1 s c in each s c of front and back sections. Join other back section to front section in same manner, break thread. Join double strand of White at sides and with a row of s c crochet both section together around remaining 3 edges.
RING: With Red, cover a bone ring with s c and attach to mitt as illustrated.
