Dogwood blossoming 'round the rippling edge of this round cloth enhances the spring-like freshness that spic-and-span white filet always imparts.

MATERIALS:
CLARK'S O.N.T. or J. & P. COATS BIG BALL BEST SIX CORD MERCERIZED CROCHET, size 20,
25 balls of White or Ecru.
Milward's Steel Crochet Hook No. 7 or 8.

GAUGE: 5 sps make 1 inch; 5 rows make 1 inch. When completed, tablecloth measures about 72 inches in diameter.

   Starting at bottom, ch 87. 1st row: D c in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across (85 dc, counting turning ch as 1 d c). Ch 32, turn. 2nd row: D c in 4th ch from hook, d c in 28 ch, d c in next d c (10 bls increased), d c in 3 d c (bl over bl), ch 2, skip 2 d c, d c in next d c (sp over bl), make 25 more sps, d c in next 2 d c, then make a foundation d c as follows: Thread over hook, insert hook in 3rd st of turning ch-3, thread over and draw through 1 loop (thus a chain st is made), complete as for a d c; make another foundation d c by inserting hook in the chain st of previous d c. Continue in this manner until 29 d c in all are increased; then make 1 more d c in usual way (10 bls increased). Ch 20, turn. 3rd row: D c in 4th ch from hook, d c in 16 d c, d c in next d c (6 bls increased), bl over bl, 46 sps, d c in 2 d c, a foundation d c in 3rd st of turning ch-3; make 17 more foundation d c; then make one more d c in the usual way (6 bls increased). Ch 11, turn. 4th row: D c in 4th ch from hook, d c in 7 ch, d c in next d c (3 bls increased), bl over bl, 58 sps, d c in 2 d c, a foundation d c in 3rd st of turning ch-3; make 8 more foundation d c; then make 1 d c in the usual way (3 bls increased). Ch 11, turn. 5th row: D c in 4th ch from hook, d c in 7 ch; d c in next d c (3 bls increased), bl over bl, 24 sps, (2 d c in next sp, d c in next d c) twice (2 bls made over 2 sps), 4 sps, 4 bls, 4 sps, 2 bls, 24 sps, d c in 2 d c, a foundation d c in 3rd st of turning ch-3; make 8 more foundation d c, make 1 d c in usual way (3 bls increased). Ch 8, turn. Starting with the 6th row, follow chart to top. Chart shows ¼ of design. To make second half of each row, repeat 1st half, starting from center and working back. When work reaches top row, reverse chart and work back to the 1st row. Fasten off.
