MATERIALS—Lily Knitting and Crochet Cotton Yarn, Art. 600:—4-skeins each Tea Rose and Terra Cotta, 1-skein each Black and Rust, and ½-skein each Cream, Hunter Green and Emerald Green (or other colors). Crochet hook size 0. Size—22" x 40".

In Black, ch 152, sk 4 sts, * (dc in next 9 sts, sl st in next 4th st, ch 3) twice, (dc in 4 sts, sl st in next 4th st, ch 3) twice. Repeat from * across. Omit final sl st. Cut 3" long. ROW 2—Turn, join Henna, ch 3 and always working over end left from last row, dc in 8 dc, ** ch 3, sc in next 3-ch, dc in next 9 dc, ch 3, sc in next 3-ch, (dc in 4 dc, ch 3, sc in next 3-ch) twice, (9 dc, ch 3, sc in 3-ch) twice. Repeat from * twice. Omit final 3-ch, make 1 dc instead. Cut 3" long. Be careful to use the right side of this row as right side of rug. ROW 3—Turn, join Terra Cotta to last dc, ch 3, dc in same dc, ** dc in 7 dc, (dc in next 2 dc) worked off together into a Cluster, sl st in next 3-ch, ch 3, dc in same place, 7 dc, (dc in next 2 dc) made into a Cluster, * (sl st, ch 3 and dc) in next 3-ch, 2 dc, (dc in next 2 dc) made into a Cluster. Repeat from * once. (Sl st, ch 3 and dc) in next 3-ch. Repeat from **, ending with a Cluster. ROW 4—Ch 3, turn, sk Cluster, 8 dc and repeat Row 2 from **.

Repeat Rows 3 and 4 in Tea Rose. Continue to alter­nate these 2 rows making 1-row each Black, Henna, Cream and Dk. Green; 2-rows Lt. Green; 1-row each Dk. Green, Cream, Henna and Black; 2-rows each Tea Rose and Terra Cotta; and 1-row each Henna and Black,—completing Border. For center, con­tinue with (2-rows Tea Rose and 2-rows Terra Cotta) 10 times, and 2 more rows Tea Rose. Then repeat the 22 rows of Border. Fasten off.

EDGE—Join Terra Cotta to corner and working across long side, (ch 2, sc between rows) repeated to corner. Fasten off. Repeat on other side.

Stretch and pin rug right-side-down in true shape on a large, padded table or board. Steam and press dry thru a cloth.
