MATERIALS:
J. & P. COATS "KNIT-CRO-SHEEN," Art. A.64: 1 ball each of White, No. 43 Dk. Yellow, No. 70 Blue Jewel and No. 48 Hunter's Green and 2 balls of No. 126 Spanish Red. A few yards of Black.

Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 7.

A doll 8 inches tall, chest 4 ½ inches.

SKIRT ... Starting at waist with Spanish Red, ch 27 loosely to reach around doll's waist. 1st row: Dc in 4th ch from hook, 2 dc in each ch across. Ch 3, turn. 2nd row: Skip first dc, dc in next dc, * 2 dc in next dc, dc in next 2 dc. Repeat from * across. Ch 3, turn. 3rd row: Skip first dc, dc in next 2 dc, * 2 dc in next dc, dc in next 3 dc. Repeat from * across. Sl st in top of turning chain at begin­ning of row.

Now work in rnds as follows: 1st rnd: Sc in same place as sl st, * ch 6, skip next 4 dc, sc in next dc. Repeat from * around. Join. 2nd rnd: * 2 sc in next loop, ch 5. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 5. Do not join. 3rd rnd: Skip first sc, * sc in next sc, 2 sc in next loop, ch 5, skip next sc. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 5. 4th rnd: Skip first sc of next group, * sc in each remaining sc of group, 2 sc in next loop, ch 5, skip next sc. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 5. Repeat 4th rnd until 20 rnds have been completed. Break off. Attach Dk. Yellow to last sc of any group and sc in each st around. Make 2 more rnds of Yellow, 3 rnds of Red, 3 Blue, 3 Red, 3 Green and 3 Red. Join and break off.

Attach Spanish Red to opposite side of starting chain and sc closely across, holding edge in tightly to fit waist. Break off.

BLOUSE ... Starting at neck with White, ch 38. Join. 1st rnd: Ch 4, * dc in next dc, ch 1. Repeat from * around. Join to 3rd ch of ch-4. 2nd rnd: Ch 3, * 2 dc in next sp, dc in next dc. Repeat from * around. Join. 3rd rnd: Ch 3, dc in each dc around. Join. 4th rnd: Ch 3, (2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc) 17 times (sleeve); dc in next 22 dc, (2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc) 17 times (other sleeve); dc in each remaining dc. Join. 5th rnd: Ch 3, sc in each st of sleeve, sl st in first sc made, dc in next 22 dc, sc in each st across other sleeve, sl st in first sc of this sleeve, dc in each remaining dc. Join. 6th and 7th rnds: Repeat 3rd rnd. Break off at end of 7th rnd. With Black make a chain 7 inches long. Lace chain through sps and tie in a bow.

BELT ... With Black make a chain 5 inches long. 1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across until piece measures 4 ½ inches. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 3, turn. 2nd row: Skip first sc, dc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. 3rd row: Sc in each dc across. Break off.

Sew snap fastener to belt. Sew hook and eye to skirt opening.

HAT ... Starting at one side, ch 4. 1st row: 4 dc in 4th ch from hook. Ch 3, turn. 2nd, 3rd and 4th rows: Dc in first dc, dc in each dc across, 2 dc in top of turning chain. Ch 3, turn. 5th row: Skip first dc, dc in each st across. Ch 3, turn. Repeat 5th row until piece measures 3 ½  inches in all. Work off all sts as 1 dc. Break off.

Make a small Yellow pompon and sew to side of hat. Tie a thread 1 inch above pompon.

EARRING (Make 2) ... String 15 beads (assorted colors), tie thread to form ring. Sew in place on hair. Make 2 strings of beads for around neck.
