A child's plastic coat hanger … 2 small buttons … Cotton batting … Small piece of white felt.

GAUGE: 8 sc make 1 inch; 8 rnds make 1 inch.

HANGER COVER … With Crystal Blue, work as for Elephant Hanger.

HEAD … Starting at center, ch 2. 1st rnd: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 2nd rnd: 2 sc in each sc around (12 sc). 3rd rnd: 2 sc in next 7 sc (top of head), sc in next 5 sc. Make sc in each sc around, increasing 7 sc evenly across top of head until piece meas­ures 1½ inches, then sc in each sc around. Join and break off.

BACK … Work as for Back of Elephant Hanger.
   Stuff Head and sew to hanger.

EAR (Make 2) … Ch 16. Join with sl st to form ring. 1st rnd: Sc in same place as sl st, sc in each ch around. Sc in each sc around until piece measures 1 inch. Next rnd: (Sc in next 6 sc, work off next 2 sc as 1 sc— dec made) twice. Complete as for Ear of Bear Hanger. Stuff and sew to Head.

CLAW … Work as for Bear Hanger.

TONGUE … With Red, ch 7. 1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, 3 sc in last ch; working along opposite side of starting chain, make sc in each ch across. Break off. Sew Tongue in place.
   Embroider mouth with Red and nose with Black. Cut a circle of felt for each eye and place a button in center of each piece and sew to head. Cut 6 strands of Blue 2 inches long and sew in place for whiskers. Cut 8 strands each 1 inch long and sew in place for eyebrows.
