Materials Required:
AMERICAN THREAD "AUNT LYDIA'S"
HEAVY RUG YARN
6—70 yd. skeins Med. Blue
1—70 yd. skein each Antique
Spice and Brown
5 yds. Yellow and
"AUNT LYDIA'S" CARPET and
BUTTON THREAD
1 Spool
Aluminum Crochet Hook Size H OR ANY SIZE HOOK WHICH WILL RESULT IN STITCH GAUGE BELOW

GAUGE: 10 sts = 3 inches

With Med. Blue ch 74, s c in 2nd st from hook and in each remain­ing st of ch, ch 1 to turn each row. 2nd ROW: 1 s c in each s c. Re­peat 2nd row 68 times, cut yarn. Work Eagle in pompons. POMPONS: Open skein, cut one end. Take 19 strands; with a 10 inch length of "AUNT LYDIA'S" Carpet and Button Thread tie at 1 inch intervals. Cut between ties and tie to background accord­ing to chart. Work fringe across top of Wings cutting Yellow into 1½ inch lengths and working into free loop of s c as illustrated.

SPEARS: Embroider as illustrated using Yellow and outlining tips of Spears with Antique, working 3 leaves in Yellow and 2 leaves in Antique as illustrated.
