LEGGINGS—3 oz. 3 ply baby yarn. No. 4 bone crochet hook.
CARRIAGE ROBE—11 oz. white knitting worsted—1 ball rayon yarn—1¼ yds. 1½" ribbon for bow No. 4 bone crochet hook—No. 6 bone crochet hook.

HOODED JACKET
Ch 70. ROW 1—sc in 2nd ch from hook—ch 1—draw up a loop thru the next ch—skip 1 ch—draw up loop thru next—yo—and thru all 3 loops on hook—ch 1—(draw loop thru same ch as previous loop—skip 1 ch draw loop thru next ch—yo—and thru all 3 loops on hook—ch 1—(pattern)—continue across ch with this pattern ending row with ch 1—sc in last ch (There should be 32 patterns between the sc's)—ch 1—turn. ROW 2—sc in 1st sc (Begin and end each row with sc) ch 1—draw up a loop under the ch 1 of last pattern—draw up loop under the next ch 1—yo—and thru all 3 loops on hook—ch 1—Repeat pattern twice more than make increase pattern—(to make inc pattern—draw loop under the ch—draw loop thru the top of pattern st of previous row—yo—and thru the 3 loops on hook—ch 1)—continue in this manner across row—making 3 pat­terns—then in inc pattern)—There should be 43 patterns—continue in this manner until there are 13 rows in the yoke—making eleven inc sts in every even numbered row—that is—making one more pattern st between the inc patterns—There should be 98 pattern sts in the last row—BREAK YARN.
LEFT SLEEVE—Leaving 14 patterns for the front—sc under next ch 1—work 19 patterns—ch 1—sc in next ch—ch 1—turn—Continue thus until sleeve measures 6½"—Turn to wrong side and seam with sc. Turn back cuff.
Leaving 28 patterns for the back work the right sleeve the same as left.
BODY—Starting at left front—*work over 9 patterns—1 inc pattern—repeat from* across row—work the re­mainder of the body in pattern with no increases for 7".
NECK EDGE—sc across the 70 ch at neck—ch 3 turn—skip 1 sc—hdc—in next—*ch 1—skip 1 sc—hdc in next—repeat from* across row (beading)—ch 1 turn—sc in each hdc and sc under each ch 1 of previous row—BREAK YARN.
HOOD—sc in 8th sc on neck edge—make—26 patterns and sc in next sc—ch 1—turn—Repeat this row 5 more times—Then make 1 inc pattern in the center back of every alternate row—for 25 rows—Turn to wrong side and seam the top of hood with sc—Sc up both fronts of jacket and around hood.
Make a ch of 100 with double yarn for the tie at neck—Trim the ends of tie and peak of hood with pompoms.
EDGING—With rayon—attach thread to lower right front—and work as in pattern except with a ch 3 between patterns instead of ch 1—Edge around entire jacket, hood and on sleeve cuffs.

BOOTIES
TOE—ch 8—turn—skip 1 ch *sc in each of the next 7 ch—ch 1—turn—Repeat from* 7 times—ch 20 and join with sl st to the 1st st of last row—BREAK YARN.
FOOT—Joining yarn in the center of the ch 20—sc—entirely around—making 2 sc in each front corner of the toe piece (do not join rnds)—make 7 more rounds of sc—dec 1st in both center front and center back of last 2 rnds—Turn to wrong side and seam with sc—picking up only the single sts.
ANKLE—Starting at center back sc around the ankle—including the toe piece—Join with sl st—ch 3 Make bead­ing as for neck of jacket join with sl st—ch 1—sc in each hdc—and sc under each ch 1—of beading—Join with sl st.
TOP—ch 1—sc in 1st sc—ch 1—work around in pat­tern—ending rnd with sl in 1st sc—ch 1—turn—Repeat this rnd—8 times.
Make a ch of 60 with double yarn for the tie at the ankle and trim with pompoms—Edge as for jacket.

LEGGINGS
Toe—ch 10—ROW 1—Skip 1 ch—9 sc—in remaining ch—ch 1—turn. Row 2—sc in each of the 9 sc—ch 1 turn—Repeat row 2-8 times—Then ch 27—and join with sl st in 1st. sc of last row—BREAK YARN.
FOOT—Attach yarn in center of the ch 27—and sc around the ankle ch and toe piece—making 2 sc in each front corner of toe piece—(do not join rnds)—Make 4 more rnds of sc—st for st—then dec 2 sts in the front and 1 st in back in each of next 3 rnds—Turn to wrong side and seam with sc—picking up only the back single sts—BREAK YARN—Attach yarn at center back of ankle and sc—around ankle ch—including toe piece—Join with sl st—ch 3—skip 1 sc—hdc in next—*ch 1—skip 1 sc—hdc in next—Repeat from* around—join with sl st—ch 1—sc in each hdc—and sc under each ch 1—of beading—join—BREAK YARN.
LEG—ROW 1—Attach yarn in the 10th sc—from the back—ch 1—sc in same st—work around ankle in pattern making 3 inc patterns in row—(do not join) ch 1—turn. Continue to work in pattern—making an inc pattern at the end of every 3rd row—starting with the 3rd row—for 28 rows—(to make an inc pattern at end of row—draw up a loop between last patterns—draw up a loop in last sc—yo—and thru the 3 loops on hook—ch 1—and sc in last sc).
Make an inc pattern at the end of each of the next 4 rows—then work straight—with no inc for 26 more rows.
Make the second leg starting from the opposite side of foot—Seam the legs on wrong side with sc—sc around the top—joining with sl st—make beading as for ankle and finish with 2 rows of sc—using 2 strands of yarn—make a ch—33" long for draw string at top—and 2 ch—16" long for the ankles—trim with pompoms.

CARRIAGE ROBE
WITH NO. 6 HOOK—ch 90—rather loosely—turn. ROW 1—sc in 2nd ch from hook—ch 1—draw loop thru next ch—skip 1 ch—draw loop thru next ch—yo—and thru all 3 loops on hook—ch 1—*draw loop thru same ch as last loop—skip 1 ch—draw look thru next ch—yo and thru all 3 loops on hook—ch 1—repeat from* across ch—ending with ch 1—sc in last ch—ch 1—turn.
ROW 2—sc in 1st sc—ch 1—draw loop under the ch 1 of last pattern of previous row—draw loop under the ch 1 of next pattern—yo and thru all 3 loops on hook—ch 1—*draw loop under the same ch as previous loop—draw loop under ch 1 of next pattern yo and thru all 3 loops on hook ch 1—repeat from* across row—Continue in pat­tern until work measures—27"—starting and ending each row with sc.
BORDER—sc around the outside—making 2 sc in each end dc and 1 sc in each end sc—up each side and 2 sc in each corner.
Make 3 more rnds of sc—making 2 sc in each corner—and picking up only the back single sts in the first rnd. Then 2 rnds of pattern—picking up only the single sts in 1st rnd of pattern and making 3 patterns around each corner in 1st. rnd.
WITH RAYON and No. 4 hook—sc in each loose st—in the 2 rnds—where the single sts were picked up. Edge as for jacket. TRIM WITH BOW.
